Interestingly persistent #melt across #Greenland - still very high and widespread. Some fresh snow and rain damping the #Ice loss slightly.

The accumulated mass budget is close to average for the time of year, which is extraordinary given the huge amount of late snow. The high melt this year has burnt through it over a week...

With the 4th day of 12%+ area melting in #Greenland but still no net ice loss, it's probably time to re-up this very old post on the @polarportal on the difference between #melt + ablation or #SMB over #glaciers + #IceSheets
