Any ham radio operators out there willing to provide some links for anyone who wants to do it as a hobby and possibly more when needed?

I do not have zero experience in radios but it has been a while. Even though I was just a little scout in combat I had to learn radios because of a lack of trained comm troops. I learned it on the fly in combat and it made it where my guys could communicate not only with our team but the multiple apaches that watched over us every time we rolled out on a mission... and comms to the apaches saved our ass many times.

We need ham people out there in case of emergencies. I do not think there are enough of them and I want to help out.

If anyone could kindly provide links that got them going successfully in the hobby that would be greatly appreciated.

Scouts out.
