Imagine the had a hashtag dictionary, based on the existing folksonomy, that app makers could easily implement. One that did things like merge legalisation and legalization into one tagspace, searching on either as a tag gives you results from both. Or respected capitalisation, so apps didn't into .

indieterminacy,

@strypey Ah shit, what you need is a prefix with folksonomic properties.

This is infact what my annotations are supposed to provide.

That way you have both the prefix and the tag with their own behaviours of semantic divergence. Increasing the layers adds one type of complexity but ameliorates another kind.

This is one of the things that attracts some people to the gemini-protocol and gemtext.

I.e., that gemini is close to being a world-wide-web based on markdown rather than HTML.

...

Having talked to many of these people —

Some are fully happy with gemini and gemtext.

Some are unsatisfied with gemtext's lack of (what they feel are) key features that markdown has.

indieterminacy,

@iyashikei_kris @reiver @requiem Ive done a parser which combines ; Emac's formats with so that one can use each others syntaxes in combination with eachother

That should be interesting enough for nuts

Does anyone have any experience with taking for building a second brain? I was looking to use @obsidian to create a file structure for notes and things I'm doing/learning/interested in but I have no clue how to structure it.

Was considering the PARA method but I'm not certain it'll work for me.

indieterminacy,

@klausblog @Marighost If you want something more out there, Ive been developing an annotation system which uses homerow buttons to describe things, from directory names to parts in a function

Here is a tsv file relating these annotations to wikidata references:

Someone finally wrote the piece about note-taking apps that I've been meaning to write for years:

"Yet maybe the apps worked all along by letting us forget. We didn’t need bookmarks and notes as much as we needed the safety of letting go."

https://www.reproof.app/blog/notes-apps-help-us-forget

indieterminacy,

@jack @glyph @gvwilson I myself obsess about annotating everything.

Ive developed a shorthand approach, - which could be compared to Pitman Shorthand.

As such, Im focused on ascribing what something is, what its state is and whether its expected to be altered (and how).

Its had a curious rewiring of my brain, as Im perceiving information systems more in a philology than an engineering domain

Heres my rig if you are interested
