Yeah, I know chess is mostly an abstract thing that you play in your head, but the aesthetic of moving real pieces, and seeing virtual pieces move in response would be cool too see for at least 5 minutes 😉

Playing a thrilling game of ‘how long will corporate IT take to get me back on the network after leave’ today. While early results looked like a respectable 4 hours, late breaking news has pushed this into solid ??????? territory
I may be spending most of a day making a bootable install flash drive to create a previous instance of OSX in a fresh partition on my ‘puter, so that I can then install a 25-year-old game that I’ve played numerous times but now has an early level that I have never seen before, and it’s my second very long week-end so this will do nicely, thank you.
Also, TIL that, while formatting a 32GB flash drive using a seven-pass erase process may be super secure, it also takes A HELLLA LONG TIME TO COMPLETE!!
