Noch keine zwei Tage alt und schafft es schon in die #TopTen, wow!
My #TopTen favourite albums. I'm not saying these are the BEST albums of all time, but these are my ten favourite albums to listen to.
How I did it: I was way easier than I thought. First I listed out about 100 albums that I really like. Then I narrowed it down to just ONE album per band/artist. From there, it was pretty easy to pick out the ten I prefer the most.
These are listed in alphabetical order (not order of preference).
First up is Highway To Hell by AC/DC. Bon Scott was one of my all time favourite singers, and I can play a lot of these songs on the guitar. My fav song off this album is Touch Too Much - dunno why, but it just sticks with me.
Next up is a Canadian band: Metal On Metal by Anvil. This was their second record, and it's got some fantastic bangers on it as well as some melodious songs. Hard to pick a fav off this... I love the title track, plus 666 and oddly Stop Me (a lighter song) is fantastic too. If you've never listened to Anvil, I very much encourage you to give them a try!
This was a bit of a shocker for me. Paranoid by Black Sabbath. I certainly thought I'd prefer their self-titled debut or Master Of Reality, but after reviewing the three records, Paranoid easily came out on top.
Interesting note: it's in my will that Electric Funeral gets played at my actual funeral! A song I really like off here is Hand of Doom but my fav is likely War Pigs. "Satan, laughing, spreads his wings..."
Next is Danzig's debut album. I've listened to this it feels like a million times and I never get tired of it. Danzig's Elvis-inspired vocals are like nothing else, and this album is full of killer cuts. My favs would be She Rides and Am I Demon - but honestly ALL the songs on here are awesome.
Being a huge Judas Priest fan, you might be surprised to see an Iron Maiden record on my top ten list. But I also love Maiden, and Powerslave is by far the record of theirs I listen to the most. Weirdly the two most popular songs (Aces High and 2 Minutes To Midnight) are not my favs - I'd say the title track is my fav, and I also really love Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. Fantastic record!
This whole list is the fault of @derthomas because he was listening to the next album on my list: Screaming For Vengeance by Judas Priest. Narrowing it down to just one Priest album was the hardest part of this. But I picked this one because I listen to it the most, and it's the FIRST Priest album (actually cassette tape!) that I ever owned. I love all the tracks off this, and the video for YGATC is etched into my brain! Perfect 80s album!
