If you look at the Orion constellation there are the distinctive stars forming the belt and sword in the centre. The middle “star” of the sword is actually the Orion Nebula - M42. This is that nebula. One of the brightest it is also the closest star forming region to earth. This is a composite of 290x10s shots stacked from last night

Ok, color me impressed. I took my new Seestar S50 out for a brief test drive this morning. After about 4-5 minutes to set up (a first time thing), I grabbed a two minute shot of M13. TWO MINUTES...straight out of the app, untouched. Wow. Of course, now it's going to be cloudy for a month.

I shot this photo of the Triangulum galaxy over two nights. I took extra frames using HA and OIII filters. This really accentuates nebulas that are within this galaxy. Kudos to all the amazing people who make and provide all the equipment and software that allows me to basically push some buttons and take photos like the Cocoon nebula. The sky was hazy and smoky, and yet 86 x 60s exposures still pulled in the nebula. I am deeply grateful.
