Is it just me or did Lemmy suddenly became more active now that Sync for Lemmy is released?
I don’t know if this is just a placebo effect, but it feels like there’s a lot more socialization and faster upvotes in the past hour Sync was released.

StatCan says economy grew 0.3 per cent in May, estimates 1 per cent growth for second quarter (www.ctvnews.ca)
Statistics Canada say the Canadian economy grew by 0.3 per cent May. The federal agency's preliminary estimate suggests real GDP grew at an annualized rate of 1 per cent in the second quarter.
How to measure things like a Canadian? (lemmy.zip)
Saw this recently on a WAN Show (19:12). How true is this? It sounds wild.

Do people just not use the YouTube subscription feed?
I consistently hear people on YouTube complain that the subscribe button doesn’t do anything for viewers, now that channel notifications are controlled by the bell. But it does do something: it puts the videos from that channel in your subscription feed, which is readily accessible on all versions of YouTube. So why do people...

[image] What I wish high-speed rail were like in North America (lemmy.world)
I tried to make it fairly realistic. Obviously I would like HSR absolutely everywhere, but a line through middle of nowhere Montana probably would not see much ridership and would come at extreme cost (especially in the mountains).
YouTube videos opening in browser?
I’m glad liftoff is opening web links in Firefox now, but I want YouTube videos to open in revanced so as to avoid ads. Slide used to have a built in YouTube viewer, which was great (no idea how it worked but it played zero ads too). YouTube broke it recently before Reddit broke the API, but there’s always Vanced/Revanced…...
Can we cut down the reddit died meta circlejerk, and finally start contributing news links, articles, guides and written posts to Lemmy's instances?
Look, I get it, nerds are happy. This is a big moment. But I am here since 3 years, having been a partial backbone of Lemmy, outside of the devs. WE NEED TO BRING AND CREATE CONTENT HERE, ON ALL INSTANCES. CUT DOWN ON THE META CIRCLEJERK AND BECOME CONSTRUCTIVE. WE ARE NO LONGER ON REDDIT.
