A small proportion of people in the US are responsible for eating 50 per cent of the beef consumed in the country, which is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions
“You can tell there is an unrelenting darkness within him that can only be exorcised by jumping a motorcycle into a canyon or parachuting out of a plane in semi-orbit—and none of us wants to find out where that energy would be redirected were he not able to spend 17 hours a day performing stunts for a camera crew."
Who’s the second most bankable celebrity Scientologist? Travolta’s a bit too old, though perhaps we’ll see a rash of prestige-TV roles pushing him as an elder statesman figure. Beyond that, they’d have to make Beck cut a chart-topping EDM album or something, or else start recruiting YouTube influencers to have a chance with the next generation.
The worldwide Haskell community met up over beers today to celebrate their unprecedented discovery of an industry programmer who gives a shit about Haskell....

Apparently some Christian homeschoolers in the US refuse to let their children learn about set theory, because that way lie paradoxes (such as the set of all sets that don’t contain themselves) which could cause one to start questioning the foundations of one’s beliefs.
Just inherited a bunch of cucumbers from a friend’s garden. I love them just on their own with some salt, and have made many a salad using them. I’m curious what kinds of fun things you all may use them for. Even if you feel like it’s basic please share as I will be eating cucumbers for the next several days straight lol....
Can anyone recommend a good case for carrying a Steam Deck in a backpack or similar which is less bulky than the factory case and yet protects the device? (I’ve heard the Dbrand Killswitch and JSAUX Modcase recommended, though that was a while ago.)
I would like to be able to carry my Deck in a backpack full of other things, including on long journeys, hikes, flights and such, without it taking up too much space (as in the factory case) or the risk of it being scratched/damaged by impact from other objects. It may well be robust enough to withstand being jarred against other objects, though it’s better to be safe than sorry.

They could also use massive doses of morphine (or fentanyl these days), though they don’t because it’s too pleasant a way to go. If they’ve sentenced someone to death, presumably for some heinous crime, they don’t want to put them down like a beloved elderly Labrador.
