I love genuine questions and people putting in the effort to love and understand each other better. If you come at me just wanting to argue I’m going to troll you back. FAFO.

If you had to give one piece of advice that is pretty much universally applicable, what would it be?
I wouldn’t dare defile Douglas Adam’s memory by not mentioning that you should keep a towel with you at all times, but my second contender is a surprisingly short three-parter:...
What quotes from children's media went hard as hell for no reason?
What's your best unconventional "blessing" like when people tell an actor "break a leg!"
In inpatient psychiatry I tell my coworkers “I hope your shift is mind-numbingly boring” or something similar (keyword being boring) because in my line of work, interesting (usually) = bad....
The increasing distrust many Americans have in modern medical advances is probably mostly due to our failing Healthcare system.
It’s easy not to trust a system associated with charging you $500 for Tylenol. Much easier (and occasionally even safer) to just smell some lavender and hope that helps. Go to an ED and you could just die of a stroke or heart attack in the waiting room or even get run over by somebody who died of a heart attack while driving...
Would suction cups work in space?
You know like the kind that go on a window or bathroom mirror or on the wall or in the shower. They need the atmosphere pushing down on them to work, right?
What historical events prove humanity hasn't fundamentally changed in the last 10k years?
…but only one person gets to talk about ea nasir’s yelp ratings....
Most unique looking celebrities?
I’m working on a side project studying variations in human facial features. It’s been helpful to study celebrity faces because it’s easy to find numerous reference photos. I’ve actually got a fairly good range of weird looking white men, turns out Hollywood is pretty flush with those, but it’s been harder to find...
What's a decently fancy coffee that's still affordable and will be well received even by non-coffee snobs?
I have been making the occasional coworker a cup of aeropressed coffee with good reviews thus far. Being that it is shift work, most of my coworkers are used to drinking the reduced syrup of a pot that’s been left on the burner too long (one coworker thanked me for leaving it for her!). Many don’t even know coffee doesn’t...

I feel like this is going to be impossible to guess but the image just turned out so nice I wanted to share it.
Can we all agree to look up a local third party candidate and mention their name to someone you know who is also local?
I like ballotpedia.org but am very open to other resources or suggestions for how to get good info. Honestly half the reason I’m posting this is to start a solid thread of resources....

They filled the relaxation room with spare patient mattresses so we slept on them.
We had a little separate room branching off the break room about the size of a powder room with just one table and one chair in it. It was so you could go cry or sleep or just not look at your coworkers on your break if you needed it....
Not sure this counts as great execution, but idk where else to put it and it's certainly awful taste: (img.kwcdn.com)

Using segmentation controlnets to interpret the rider-waite tarot deck. (sh.itjust.works)
No clue what I’m going to to do for swords or pentacles though. Right now cups is “drinking glass” and I’ll probably use “pole” for wands. OFADE20k doesn’t have “knife”, OFCOCO doesn’t have “pole” and neither has “money!”

Do dogs like bringing back balls and sticks because it's really helpful if your spear or sling shot misses the mammoth?
Credit to my fiance with a special interest in evolutionary biology and the history of human domestication of other species (and who is also currently HIGH AS HELL).
[Prototype] A cross between a creative writing exercise and a roleplaying game that's designed to be played in a forum. (sh.itjust.works)
Not even sure if I’m ready for playtesters yet or if I’ll even keep working on this, but I had fun making it so far. If you’ve got any thoughts on what would make this more or less playable, it’d probably help me if/when I do get back to working on this.

SLPT: You can make like 30-50% of your social circle think you're psychic (or just weirdly smart) by asking them to think of a number 1-10 and asking if it's 7.
Helps if they 're not huge nerds who spend all their time talking about the true definition of randomness and/or already have a number they consider the sexiest have reduced STEM knowledge overall, somewhat irrespective of other intelligences.
Science Diagrams and infographics that look like shitposts. (sh.itjust.works)
Shameless clone of one of my favorite Facebook groups for real science diagrams and infographics that just look fucking silly.
I feel like this would be a really great basis for a forum-based RPG. (rowanrookanddecard.com)
I really miss old roleplaying forums where instead of being more “gamelike” you would more write a story together and the rules were more of a self governing expectation that people wouldn’t try to take over a story for themselves (which didn’t always work as intended). I remember being on one’s for everything from...
