I was thinking about how I missed having an indoor thermometer that measures humidity. It’s such a small specific thing, one I’d never think of getting unless pushed to it (which I was by one particularly dry winter). But I like having one now....
I can’t agree more! I have tried both soda stream and drinkmate and would recommend the drinkmate. It’s just better, you can fizz juice and non-water drinks. Soda stream is also a consumer boycott target if you don’t want to support the genocide in Palestine. 😬
My dad told me to eat salads and lose weight when I was a little kid. I will never forget. Please don’t shame her, weight and appearances are so touchy but criticizing every bite I ate only fucked me up. I was chubby, I still consider myself the same proportional level of chubby as when I was a kid. I have yoyo dieted my whole life and when I see him I still just push food around my plate.
The one great thing I remember about my childhood was driving long distances the two of us. He would often need to drive a few hours out of town to pick stuff up for work, and I would sit in the passengers seat with one of those huge map books and I would navigate us there. It was a ton of fun just doing mini road trips once or twice a month.
I also went to conventions related to his profession, the topic was boring but conventions of any type inevitably have loads of candy dishes. Just doing things together the two of us felt special.
I knew when I was 12 I never wanted children. I got married at 20. I got fixed at 24. I am almost 40 and have no regrets other than not getting fixed sooner, but finding a doc to fix a lady at 18 is damn near impossible.
I’m new to art, I started painting and illustrating a couple months ago. To practice I paint the dingiest scenes from the current video game I’m playing: Yakuza Kiwami. I’ve been painting along to those real time YouTube videos of people doing loose illustrations and watercolors. If anyone has recommendations for learning...
As a Windows 10 user I swear 11 just exists to force me to learn more about Linux. I dun wanna learn a new OS! I have too many hobbies and I just want steam and league. For now I’m just paying attention to all u Linux nerds and taking note. If Microsoft forces my hand I think mint looks like the easiest to setup based on what comments I’ve read.
I’m fairly sure my husband does this for me, just as I do for him. We know how far to let one another struggle before fun becomes frustration. I love playing single player games as a couple.
Published today in a JAMA Health Forum research letter, policy researchers from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health and Boston University show how the 2022 U.S. Supreme Court ruling affected preferences for permanent contraception among males and females between the ages of 18 to 30. I am so grateful to have gotten the Essure sterilization procedure without any side effects. I am curious why we aren’t working to refine the procedure rather than completely banning it. I got fixed with no incisions and walked out of the appointment just a couple hours after arriving.
Tubal is so invasive and I thought Essure was going to fix that but apparently not
I’ve said this elsewhere, but if you are in the states and have health insurance sterilization is covered! For those with lady bits too! This changed with ACA and as soon as it was in effect I started searching for doctors. Easier said than done unless you are old or already have children. But it is possible now, unless you are in some state that used their right to take that right away.

Getting laid off from my tech job was both the scariest and most freeing moment in my life. It’s been over a year now and I’ve transitioned into doing just a few hours of contract work.
Fuck yeah. I got fixed a few years after the ACA (Obamacare) was enacted. Prior to the ACA almost no providers covered voluntary sterilization, or there were difficult hoops to jump. Now I make a point to scream to all my ladies in the states, your health insurance is absolutely REQUIRED to provide coverage for female sterilization.
