@FrockCoat @philip_cardella @TonyStark live in a country without guns. People have mental health problems here too but I don't worry about being shot for pulling into the wrong driveway. Why is that?

@FrockCoat @philip_cardella @TonyStark So the guy who stabbed everyone in Sydney was not from the "diverse" background of which you speak. He killed a lot of people but if he'd he'd had a gun do you genuinely imagine that situation would have worked out better than if he'd had a knife? He would have killed more people surely. Yes the real issue is male violence but allowing them to have guns is no solution to anything.

@luckytran This really shows the separation between ordinary people and governments. Democracies give us the illusion of choice but power always finds a way to power through.

@Radical_EgoCom As Eliot said, "Humankind cannot bear very much reality". When confronted with it, most people would prefer to lash out at the truth teller than deal with the truth itself.
Daria was such a great show. I'm surprised it got made.

Vaginal speculums come in many sizes, because so do vaginas. Sizes include broad, medium, medium-long, small... you'd think the smallest size would be extra small, right?

Actually, many manufacturers call their smallest size "virgin". In the year 2023, they still do this.

Anyone had a colonoscopy lately? Is it supposed to be agony when they pump up your bowel with CO2 such that it feels like it’s going to burst?

@PaulNickson It's uncomfortable and embarrassing but not agony. Not as bad as an endoscopy (i had both and that was worse). It's worse in the anticipation than the reality and over quite quickly.

@AbandonedAmerica No lessons at all will be learnt from this. After a certain amount of time another bright spark entrepreneur will be selling tickets for the double viewing of the Titanic and the famous submersible tragedy and the ghouls will line up.

@dancinyogi Australian/ naturalised Brit. Honestly I get that a lot of people in this country can't bear change of any sort, but keeping the monarchy is just embarrassing.
