I don’t use Reddit anymore, but I wanted to search something that I couldn’t find anywhere. This is what I saw. After killing all the other apps, Reddit now is trying to force us to use their own spyware app.
I’d be tempted to go and say “no shit,” but even the most obvious things have to be proven or tested. How you define consciousness can also change a lot.

If the spirit of the fediverse is to spread everything across small instances, then i think it would be really important to make communities, especially niche communities, easier to discover across instances. Since it is not planned to crawl federated instances community catalog, i think instance admins, or maybe even the lemmy...

While Google Translate has its obvious privacy-related issues, it’s at least a very mature system. The same cannot be said about Samsung’s translator, especially in its current form, yet they’re trying to roll it out ASAP and to as many people as possible....
