I've become 'one of those' 😅 It's still November and for Sunday meal at the Woodman in Swansea I had a festive burger with chilli cranberry sauce, pigs in blankets and a Christmas pudding with brandy sauce for afters. 🍔🎄🤘

    It's the same reason I hold J. Michael Straczynski in such high regard: "Never let them stop you from telling the story you want to tell." Even if it means walking away. I admire that level of integrity.

    I will miss the bar we went to last night when I move. Perhaps there are more like it out there, but it seems to be a dying breed. It minds me of 'Cheers.' It's no great shakes, just a wooden bar, hardwood floors, a jukebox, and a bunch of regulars. But there are three pool tables, dart boards, and pinball machines. There are no TVs, nor is there loud music. People shoot pool, play darts, socialize, and it's fun. Again, maybe there are more bars like that out there - I hope so!

    FFS, even GitHub app has a Lock Screen widget, but does ? Nope!
    They now have Bluetooth updates so no need to scan, so a Lock Screen widget to show current blood sugar is a no brainier. But sadly not. Shame.

    @revk Even 3rd party apps for Libre, like Diabox and Xdrip+ (which I use on Android instead for my Libre 2) show levels on the task bar, lock screen, and screensaver/clock display (useful for when I'm driving and can't unlock my phone). Another thing that's lacking is calibration with a fingerprick test.

    @dancinyogi Mug of Yorkshire Gold, prelude to filter coffee, because the first thing I don't want is to wait for a machine, or faff about with grinding beans and other stuff I hate about the universe and everything in it until at least lunchtime. 🌌😊

    I'd argue that one of most sound investments you can make is in a web domain name.

    I've owned one since 2004: it's my email address, was a blog, now it's a 'linktree' type page.

    Creating a web space is not near as hard as it once was! Sub domains open up more possibilities: maybe personal instances are the future..? 🤔

    Link pages, emails, social media, microblogs, and other things we have no ownership or control will fall in and out of fashion. A domain name is yours: always.

    Serious post re: twitter:

    A lot of users still on Twitter do not notice any of the bad stuff.

    I have tried to get my wife to switch to literally anything else for a year and she just doesn't notice anything bad. She uses it as as a news reader, only follow liberal news and liberal bloggers and never comments on anything. She still doesn't get why I've had to ever block anyone...

    @WhyNotZoidberg I half convinced my partner, she uses both now.

    I was very strict on who I followed on twitter: blocked/filtered words and a tonne of media accounts, had used a paid app (so no ads) since 2008 - and I didn't wander over to trending or 'for you' swamps.

    From that 3rd party app environment, just seeing the filtered curated feed of who I followed, the bad stuff was only ever evident if someone I followed tweeted about it.

    Eggon Mustard purchasing it was the last straw, though.

    @Cloudguy I tried, it's even worse. Applied filters server-side and still seeing hashtags I filtered out for home and public feed. Tusky doesn't seem to filter re-toots.

    @Cloudguy I'm doing it correctly in stock app that I can see, still seeing them post-filter. 😜 I like using Tusky but seems to be letting reposts slip through.
