Burnt,

People, in general, need to be more perceptive and aware of their surroundings.

Burnt,

The real horror is that the extra portion ends up on my plate and I still somehow manage to finish all of it!

Burnt,

I was under the impression that forefoot striking is actually more efficient as the body is continually in a “forward falling” position, your legs do not land angled in front of you requiring your knees to absorb the shock, and you better utilize the elastic potential of your leg’s tendons.

Don’t a lot of marathon runners forefoot strike? Seems like they’re athletes that would be looking for the most efficient running techniques.

Burnt,

Maybe they shouldn’t be gatekept behind ludicrous paywalls then.

Burnt,

The meat isn’t why those people are overweight though. It’s correlation, not causation. If a person eats a meat only diet, more than likely they’ll reduce body fat and gain muscle mass due to the macros they are consuming. It’s all the easy calories and lack of exercise that makes so many people overweight.

Burnt,

Zuck does already have all that Sweet Baby Ray’s!

Aphantasia... apparently 3% of the world has it. Any aphantasists in here, who've had success improving their condition?

10 years ago, I’d have put my ability to visualise at 0 out of 10. Practice and occasional halucinogen use has got me to 2 out of 10. It causes no end of problems in day to day life, so I’m interested to hear if anyone has tips or just experiences to share so it doesn’t feel such a lonely frustrating issue....

Burnt,

I was an aerospace machinist in a past life and I’m aphantasic. Never was it a hindrance in me making parts. You were just having a conversation with an idiot, which makes sense because shops seem to hire a lot of them.

Burnt,

You must have the world’s thickest pair of rose-tinted glasses if you think Starfield looks only as good as a game like GTA4.

Does Anyone Have a TIFU Moment When Cooking?

I was finishing a jar of extremely hot peppers (7 pot primos) that I had fermenting on Thanksgiving day. I made a hot sauce with them and cantaloupe. I had them in a pan at a low simmer to meld the flavors. The problem was the steam coming off was potent as hell. It filled the house when everyone was arriving and coughing from...

Burnt,

I’ve been experimenting with different cheeses in my stovetop mac and to be honest, America/cheddar is still the best combo I’ve found. Was disappointed when a batch of smoked Gouda was still good, but not as good as the sauce made from “milk-product” slices and any old block of mild cheddar.

Burnt,

Such an amazing series! I love that there are content creators who make documentaries that rival mainstream production companies in terms of quality and their content is practically free.

Burnt,

While I agree with a lot of what you said, how is it in any way pay to win? You can carry and win a match with any hero.

I’d also say it’s in a fairly balanced state at the moment. I’ve seen way worse metas over the years…like GOATS or double shields

Burnt,

You also shouldn’t overcrowd the pan or else you’ll steam the meat rather than brown it. In my experience, it’s difficult to brown more than 1lb of ground meat in a 10" stainless skillet.

Is Google having a total breakdown right now???

So, I’m sure we all know about the WEI thing at this point, which is bad and weird enough; and also the sudden move to block ad-blockers on YouTube. I don’t know how that’s going to work out, but it’s pretty irritating. Not to mention, going to the gym, coming home, and suddenly getting loads of fitness-related ads piled...

Burnt,

Google Play Music was actually the best music streaming service I had used. Their radios actually stuck to a genre and would often give you good recommendations on artists that weren’t already in your library. They did the usual Google though and deprecated it for YouTube Music, which frankly has a trash radio algorithm in comparison.

Why does “come here” bother me so much?

Ok, I have no idea why this bothers me and I don’t even know what to call it. My husband is a “come here” guy. Something he thinks is interesting and wants to show me - hey, come here! Nuclear apocalypse - hey, come here! Why the hell wont he just tell me why he wants me to get up, trudge to wherever he is, so that he can...

Burnt,

I’ve been told just today that tone isn’t hard to infer from text and people who use tone markers are dumb. /s

Burnt,

But actually not free as in free beer. Someone is paying to sustain these instances.

Edit: this is the 2nd time I’ve seen the phrase “free as in free beer” today and decided to look it up because I hadn’t really taken notice of it before. I retract my statement and apologize. You used it perfectly and TIL, so thank you.

Burnt,

You can’t grow if you can’t admit to yourself that you’re wrong some of the time.

Burnt,

You must not have read that first sentence.

Burnt,

Show me a culture that likes to recognize the war crimes they commited as war crimes.

The Japanese seem to do way more of sweeping their dirty laundry under the rug from WWII under the rug than Americans.

And no, that’s not trying to excuse Americans of acknowledging their own war crimes. Every culture should own their past and do their best to learn from their mistakes.

Burnt,

For the first few seasons sure but that Jordan guy that won season 6 was all skill and attitude.

Burnt,

I never said I found it to be hilarious. Any other words you’d like to put in my mouth for me?
