It's true. The file mangers for GTK are sub par across the board.

Thunar should be it. But it doesn't remember closing position well. It's supposed to, but it does not. At least past 5 tabs. Also, it has this odd behavior where you open a tab thinking one pane is in focus, but it opens it in the other pane. Very annoying.

Nautilus is still the slowest thing I've ever seen because it does not like that I have my open home folder and the regular location of XDG-DIRS are empty.

@thelinuxcast I've been pretty happy with pcmanfm for a few years now. I used it on bspwm and now on hyprland.

An American friend of mine thinks beans on toast is disgusting. So to all none Brits (as we find it delicious)…is it disgusting to you?

Side note - I find it astonishing that someone from the country that invented “cheese in a can” can find this “dish” disgusting. 😂

@kev @gcluley crazy. Their customer service must have gone downhill recently. I've had at least two packages marked as delivered that I didn't receive and they sent out a replacement without asking any questions. I had one of the missing packages show up a few days later soaking wet (no idea what it went through) and when I told Amazon they told me to keep both. It wasn't an iPhone but still, a lost iPhone isn't gonna hurt the company.

@Gina that is a deluxe supervisor pad. Eleanor has a dish drying mat on my desk because she kept sleeping on the one in the kitchen so I got her her own.

@joel I saw part one a while back and thought it was a little slow, but also the first half of the book was a little slow. Awesome visuals though. Is part 2 a major improvement?

    For anyone that is like me and sometimes is guilty of not reading man pages:

    gnu stow has a flag to prevent it from turning entire directories into symlinks. The --no-folding flag will create directories if they don't exist but not symlink them, just their contents.

    Having a bunch of symlinked directories in my ~/.config/ directory wasn't the behaviour I wanted when using stow to sync dotfiles to a new system. I've been using stow for years. Reading pays off, I guess. 🙃
