Loblaws doesn’t care - they’ll just have staff cut off the rotting parts and put it back out for sale. (I used to work at Superstore. This is what they do after closing.)

Perhaps they find a way to tax the dead, scorched trees. How dare they set themselves on fire! /s

Mom of captured U.S. soldier Gordon Black says girlfriend 'lured' him to Russia (www.nbcnews.com)

The worried mother of a U.S. soldier in Russian custody said Wednesday that her son “was lured” there by a Russian woman he had been seeing in South Korea for over a year and that he’s being held on trumped-up charges of stealing roughly $100 from her....

This scam is as old as time. A person in a bad place in their life and/or let hormones make their decisions is vulnerable to these. People considered ‘intelligent’ get duped in scams too.

Of all the places to try to pull sovcit shenanigans, Quebec is probably not the best choice.

Seeing as sovcits choose to self-represent in court proceedings, I doubt they trust lawyers. Also, I can’t imagine a lawyer accepting 1099a “payments” from a magical, secret bank account.

Bayer was also an equally immoral company before it bought Monsanto. What the buyout did was open opportunities for groups seeking legal action against Monsanto.

This sovcit has asserted “grammatical deception” as part of their counter claim, yet they submit a crime against syntax and grammar.

Variable rate mortgages and loans are also available. They have not been as popular in the past few years, but when rates were lower, they were more common

Just be careful that you give the bag lots of holes for drainage. Potatoes will rot if they remain water logged. I prefer to grow mine in “potato grow bags” (found on Amazon) as they drain well and can hold a large volume of dirt.

Marine silicone is specifically formulated to be water tight (and safe for aquarium inhabitants). It can be found at specialty salt water aquarium stores.

With the state of some public utilities, dysentery won’t be far behind.

I just learned that the Time Cube is no more. (lemmy.world)

Some of you may remember this absolute diamond of insanity that was the “4-Day Time Cube.” This was the go-to example of the internet as a universal amplifier for communication - for both the sane and insane alilke. It was there from nearly the start of the world-wide web, back in the 1990’s. Alas, it ceased to be some...

Modern foundation pens with universal ink cartridges/refillable ones are pretty reliable. The only time one has leaked on me was when I dropped it and broke the pen in half. I had topen body fixed and it still works well.

At least in Canada, you have to file taxes, even if you have no income, as proof you are eligible for welfare programs.

In my province, BC, people who use the foodbank or other welfare programs get their taxes done for free. My mom used to volunteer for this each year at the local foodbank while she held her CPA credentials (she’s retired now).

My uncle had 20 years of unfilled taxes. Upon his death, Canada Revenue Agency just seized his assets, in this case his house and his truck. So technically, death did not save him from taxes.

The government’s efforts have been misguided because they won’t acknowledge the systemic issues: work culture and sexism. Instead they have pushed monetary programs and are confused as to why they’re not working.

The Battle of Britain during WW2 destroyed a lot of British cities, major ports, and industrial centres, to the point that the rations system continued into the 1950s because the country was broke and rebuilding.

If I understand the sovcit “process” based on previous posts, the lack of a response (ie: not sending a clear rejection letter) constitutes acceptance. I think there’s also something about if forms are rejected 3 times it is also acceptance.

My neighbor’s cat (a tortie) used to do this outside in patches of dirt while meowing loudly, look confused as to why she was dirty, spend a good amount of time cleaning herself, and then roll around in the dirt again.

She’s 18 now and spends most of her time napping in the sun.
