Chilly,

I just asked my eye doctor about this yesterday. She said LASIK would correct myopia for 10-15 years, then it’ll start coming back. She also said everyone loses up close eyesight about 45 so you’ll have to wear glasses or contacts anyway. Said it’s only worth it if you really want to see without putting on glasses.

Chilly,

I have some friends that love them and only have purple mattresses now. I slept on their bed and it was okay… I think if you prefer the floating on top feeling they’re probably great, I prefer the tempurpedic style of sinking in

Chilly,

I mean, same for me. I keep joking that I’m too selfish to have kids, but the reality is I’m not so rich I can afford to have enough help to still live my lifestyle.

Chilly,

I’m making plans to leave if it happens. Hopefully it doesn’t but I’m thankful I have the ability to do so.

Chilly,

The problem for the seceding states is the money makers (urban areas) are all blue

Chilly,

Small town Texas maybe. Not here in the cities

How to use ProtonMail in my Android phone without letting Google know about my Proton account?

I have been slowly degoogling my life by reducing my use of Google apps and switching to FOSS alternatives. I recently created a Proton account and tried to keep it completely isolated from my default Google account so as to not let it know what my Proton mail identity is. I have finished my transition in my desktop to the best...

Chilly,

Also, anyone can figure out if you’re using Proton by the email address or DNS on the domain name.

Chilly,

It’s from a 1926 law targeted at Railways, and then expanded to Airlines a decade or so later. This system was originally negotiated between Unions and the railway companies with the intent to reduce disruption to critical transportation systems but it really ended up hurting the unions leverage.

Takeshi’s Castle is back! UK television gets its best ever version of the Japanese gameshow (www.theguardian.com)

“Except that’s not the case. For the first time, British audiences get to see entire episodes of Takeshi’s Castle as it was designed to be seen by Japanese viewers. Not sneered at by Chris Tarrant, or packaged with a culturally insensitive “oriental riff” influenced theme tune. No, these are new episodes, in full, with...

Chilly,

This is awesome. I tried to connect to the proton VPN for UK to get that compensation but no dice. Didn’t matter, the subtitled version in the US is incredible

Chilly,

You can login to the SimpleLogin.io interface and setup reverse aliases even if you create them in proton pass. They don’t have the integration fully down yet so it’s clunky but it works.

Chilly,

It seems plausible to me that their GDPR process probably missed some email communication system where the name and email was stored, like a hubspot or something custom. Most places I’ve seen have a ton of systems with name and email in it, and GDPR processes aren’t maintained well across all of the teams using that data.

Not saying it’s right, just saying it’s possible an account was mostly deleted and the remnants remain in some other tool, and the person you spoke with only knows about their main systems.

Chilly,

Agreed it’s not acceptable. Unfortunately I don’t think GDPR is taken seriously enough. Hopefully at some point the consequences will get better

Chilly,

Guess I need to give it another shot lol

Chilly,

It’s a little different when you’re the world’s reserve currency.
