@msquebanh Oof, that's a lot! For some reason, for me, it's always more painful to have work done on uppers, but the recovery is always more painful for lowers. I don't know why!!!

Between my teeth and my spine, I just don't know what's up with the human body. I think sharks are way better off.

Mystery tree of the day. Maybe a shrub. Extremely popular with the pollinators. Blooms year round. Covered always with honeybees, carpenter bees, native bees, hummingbird, you name it. Neighbor (one that will talk to me, LOL) hates it and always tells me she wishes I would get rid of it. (Update: Almost certainly Grewia occidentalis, the Crossberry -- very useful plant, and edible!!!)

@wordshaper Okay, yesterday, as we were having this interaction, my spouse was at a business lunch, where they serve poke bowls. My spouse grabbed a set of chopsticks and dug in. A younger coworker looked over and literally said "Ugh, who uses chopsticks?"🙄

Later on, my spouse made a reference to the chopstick hate, and someone said "Oh, don't mind [younger coworker], everyone knows she's a buffoon."

NJ not having a good time right now, though—a senator under trial for corruption, a traitorous presidential candidate campaigning on the Jersey Shore, the legislature passing perhaps the strictest open public records act in the country.

@wordshaper It's a weird moment in NJ. Progressives won elimination of the "county line" in primary ballots (the design gave county political parties incredible power over who wins primaries), and Senator Menendez is being tried for being corrupt, but at the same time, he was so corrupt because that's NJ, and at the same time the legislature is consolidating power by being more secretive. So, despite progress, our corrupt reputation is getting a LOT of air time right now.

@StillIRise1963 @housepanther I think of thrifting as a form of organized borrowing, but it's still capitalized and so has barriers. Tools, specialty clothes, and media are still the the easiest things I can imagine. If someone can develop a model for community broadband/cable TV, sign me up. I hate those fuckers.
