That was my most recent regret of a buy.

For those of you who are enjoying Diablo 4, good on you. I sadly could not. There are too many things that I’ve been shown a better way on thanks to other arpgs that is rather spend time on than one which seems intent to have me spend significantly more time on for less. It felt awful to pick up entire inventories of loot and have absolutely none of it be worth while for my character. Literally hours of running from thing to thing to not hit a single upgrade.

I’ve really enjoyed the depth and customization available in path of exile. It’s so strange to me that in diablo that equipment is either a good roll or completely useless and there’s no fixing it. In path of exile, I just need to find a decent base normal item (white rarity) and I can work it into something worthwhile.

If that’s not your cup of tea for whatever reason, I’ve heard good things about the last epoch, though I haven’t played myself.

As for path of exile… A lot of people assume you need as a beginner to follow some kind of guide or a step by step thing. I’ve found that as long as you don’t neglect defense in that massive skill tree, you’ll do just fine while doing your own thing. Doing that and keeping your various resistances up are the keys to success.

Is it just acclimation to a new concept that is similar in some ways to putting gems/runes in your gear from Diablo?

I remember taking a moment to understand that the skills are all from gems, but afterwards It’s pretty nice to be able to swap out skills as you play, trying new stuff to see if you like it before you really go all in on something. This most recent league(season) I found a skill I didn’t know about before and it has worked wonderfully with everything else I’m working with. Once you’re a bit over halfway through the campaign the game drops an npc that has nearly all the gems for sale, so you can really spend a lot of time trying out stuff to see what you like.

As for the controller version of the game, I like some things (I found it way easier to use potions), but others were a bit more frustrating, especially the inventory management and item collection… Which is a rather large part of the game.

Helldivers 2. After a somewhat rocky launch, the game is good and enjoyable. It’s missing a lot at the moment in terms of what the first game offered, but the third person shooting is very refreshing from the top down game it once was. I was planning to spend my whole weekend on it, but seeing how quickly I’m progressing through the ranks and knowing how the difficulty curve is, I’ve decided that taking my time and waiting for further updates is preferable.

Edit: seems I missed out on login issues yesterday from literal hundreds of thousands of people joining in.

Why make them illegal? I used a vape to limit my nicotine intake and weaned myself off of smoking (and vaping) completely. It still sucked for the first 6 months and the occasional random craving that comes from being a smoker for over a decade, but at least I fought each part of the smoking addictions separately which made it bearable.

For clarity, I got 0% nicotine vape juice for a month or so before I quit puffing completely so let the withdrawal from the substance run its course, and then had to deal with the psychological side of things. Which was VERY annoying. Everytime I’d do anything where I’d normally smoke triggered a craving.

If you want to jump in head first and worry about everything else later, youtube’s DIYPerks has amazing builds with plenty of skills to back them up. It’s been great to watch him go from little led mushroom lights to literally recasing a ps5 into a portable gaming all-in-one.

Remember that first month of lock down when people in urban areas noticed a change in their air quality from the diminished number of vehicles on the road? It would be nice for that to be the norm.

Good God is this ever true. I went many years without stretching and noticed a much higher probability I’d make a random muscle in my back or leg upset by doing something it wasn’t ready for.

Heavy lifts are one thing… Bending forward and back while painting a wall causing a back muscle to freak out was entirely unexpected and a wake up call for me to stretch every day. I still can’t touch my toes, but I’m getting there.

It makes sense that a hydro power station has limits on how much power it can make and therefore sell. It’s strange to me that there isn’t an alternate deterrent to using obscene amounts of power, but I’m guessing the price per kWh is regulated to some extent

Glad I don’t, and the cravings from the first bit aren’t as bad, but I still want to.

I was talking about groceries with a friend over in England a few nights ago. Apparently my pasta prices are 4x hers. And that’s just the store brand dry noodles. If I found the cheapest deal I used to see from various places, it’d still be 2x. I’d need a pound of noodles for $0.49 to even be in the ballpark.

If a simple item like that is casually 4x more expensive, I’m sure everything else is also up there. I’ve been lucky that my income allows me to be a single family income provider and have money left over to throw around wherever I want, but just finding this out the other day really left a deep impression of just how sorry of a state things are in over here.

I use the rule “face cards can interact with each other”.

You can add +2’s, you can throw in +4’s. All the normal rules apply still, so color matters. Throwing a +12 at someone is almost as amazing as them dropping a reverse to win. The only rules change beyond this is that skip changes from skip the next person to skip you drawing, thus passing it along.

It’s always a Rollercoaster with Sega. After announcing so many IPs returning after nearly two decades (or more for some titles), most people who knows of those was very happy, and now it’s tainted with this shit. I loved crazy taxi and jet set radio, but now I will really have to wait and see how they handle those games on release.

I like taking a graphing paper notebook. It’s a minor thing, but it makes drawing maps and keeping little note blocks. I also like to have a few different colors of highlighters to assist in making quick references.

Kind of a weird other inclusion, but getting fantasy sticker sheet, character relevant if possible add a bit to the experience.
