Maybe it might need to be explained; very few people who support liberation for Palestine support Hamas. We understand that groups like Hamas are a logical outcome of oppression, and actually addressing that sort of violence requires addressing the systems of oppression.

You cannot focus on a single event, you need to understand the wider history of oppression and violence. That includes the Nabka in the 40s, European history of antisemitism and colonialism, and Zionism.
You also need to look at the current power imbalance, between a besieged population and a modern military. Those with more power in the situation bear the greater responsibility to actually fix the situation.

This violence isn't going to stop when Hamas is dismantled, it stops when all the people in the region are free
That might be an unrealistic goal, but that's the only solution

Something I've been thinking about for a while:

Patriarchy doesn't run on a binary man > woman hierarchy, there's actually a third category at the bottom (i've been thinking of it as freaks/weirdos). It's not queer people per se, someone can be put in the weirdo group despite being cis/het, and a gay person can be in the other group if they fill the right roles for man/woman under patriarchy. Although queer people often end up there, trans women are always in the weirdo group.
So the structure is actually men > women > weirdos

This is why a man can be abusive to other men in ways we would consider gay, because the other men aren't in the men group and it's still maintaining the power structure (eg the roman it's only gay if you're the bottom attitude)
It's partly why TERFs object so much to trans women specifically; traditionally we should be at the bottom and insisting on being treated as women is taking away the cis woman's power over us. They're conservatives (in terms of their relationship to hierarchy), so us being women is a threat to the women > weirdos structure.
There are a lot of authoritarian inclined people who are happy to be in the middle as long as there is someone underneath them they can abuse

I think this is a useful explanatory idea? (If so someone has probably said it better than me already :P)
