@cratedigger @dnc I’d guess Kale, but definitely a brassica and eatable.

Does take a really long time to load for everyone else?

I've got a pretty beefy M1 mac and I swear that, by far it takes the longest time to show ANYTHING on the screen after invoking it. Multiple seconds of "is it working?!" and then the splash screen appears.

Dero_10,
@Dero_10@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@masukomi I run it on an intel mini and I seem to get quick launches.

    @dnc I just put a red Tom in the bag. The greens have to past a certain maturity or they just dedicate or mold.

    @dnc normally if you see potatoes on the surface, you dump dirt on them. Sun makes them green and too much green is not good for you. Mine long harvested (Vancouver), do that if your season allows it.
    Otherwise you’ll need to dig them up to see.

    Guess I know what I'll be doing for the next week or so.

    The upgrade kit for my Prusa
    MK3 -> MK4 was delivered yesterday.

    First order of business...print the parts on my MK3, then bid it a fond farewell and tell it thanks for all the good things it printed. All the upgrade parts will take about 40 hours to print.

    After that, the MK3 is mostly disassembled and the MK4 is built around the existing frame.

    @dnc split them into separate pots. They are not root established yet so will transplant easily.

    These crisps were delicious.

    50 g of kale leaves, central rib removed
    1 teaspoon olive oil
    1/8 to 1/4 tsp salt

    Preheat fan oven to 130C
    Wash and dry the kale thoroughly. Rip large leaves into smaller pieces, and discard the tough central rib.
    In a large bowl, mix leaves with oil and salt so every leaf is coated

    Line two trays with baking paper and arrange leaves so they're not touching.

    Bake 15 minutes. They should still be green when done, but crisp.

    @sheilamaverbuch @plants I put a bit of cayenne pepper and lemon juice on them as well

    First time growing cabbage, and I really didn’t think ahead. There’s at least another wheelbarrow full to harvest and I don’t think fermenting sauerkraut is not the ultimate solution for all this. I have a “cold room”, but it’s about 16C degrees this time of year. Any ideas on what to do with it? https://www.diningandcooking.com/858220/first-time-growing-cabbage-and-i-really-didnt-think-ahead-theres-at-least-another-wheelbarrow-full-to-harvest-and-i-dont-think-fermenting-sauerkraut-is-not-the-ultimate-solution-for-all-this-i-h/

    @dnc same issue. We have cabbage stir fry’s weekly. They’ve filled my beer fridge, which is the urgent problem to solve.

    @dnc they go light green to dark green. Most pick then. If left on plant next is crazing or cracks, then black to red.
    The heat level is set at dark green, but go sweeter to red.
    For pickles I let mine go to red.

    @amy I picked up a converted Nikon D3400 off of Facebook Marketplace. Having great fun with false colour and BW imagery. It’s a bit cumbersome using live view to frame and focus, but love the results.

    @dnc if you started it from seed from a store bought bell, the resulting plant may not be true. But it will be an eatable sweet pepper of some shape and rind thickness.

    Anyone else getting noticeably worse battery life with WatchOS 9.5 (including 9.5.1)? I’ve gone from like ~36 hours to under 24.

    Dero_10,
    @Dero_10@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

    @gruber yes, seem to have lost 25%. Used to be between 25%-30% in evening charge time, now either “off” or less than 5%. No change in routine or Apps. iPhone seems to drop very quick as well, even if not being touched for 8hrs

    This weeks is .

    Zuniceratops was discovered in 1996 by the son of paleontologist Douglas G. Wolfe. Eight year old Christopher James Wolf was with his father in west-central New Mexico when he discovered some fossils. After getting his father they realised it was a partial ceratopsian skeleton.

    One skull and several individuals have been found. Given its size it was probably a juvenile.

    Zuniceratops lived around 10 million years before the Ceratopsidae group
