Recommend a game for me to play with my partner

My partner and I occasionally play games together, but they pretty much only play word puzzle games on their own. I’m not very good at word games though, and they don’t have very good spatial skills, so we frequently find ourselves mismatched. We have a switch and a single decent gaming pc, and a pretty old laptop....

GullibleOyster,

My wife and I really enjoyed playing The Quarry together. It’s one of those games where it is more of a movie with decisions so I would do all of the controls and she would do the decisions.

GullibleOyster,

Yeah mobi support got removed earlier this year. Epubs work fine for me though once use calibre to remove the DRM.

If you had a one-way ticket to Jan 1, 1999 that departs on Jan 1, 2024, and you are allowed to bring whatever fits into a backpack with you, what would you bring to use to take over the world, and how would you use it?

Assume that the future can change based on your actions, so any historical information that you bring along with you from the intervening 25 years may quickly drift out of the new realities history....

Kobra Max direct drive mod and insulation (lemmy.world)

I’ve been looking to switch the bowden extruder for a direct drive type on my Anycubic Kobra Max. I’ve always hated the blobbing and stringing due to the bowden mechanism. After having received an LDO Orbiter v2.0 today and a bit of tinkering, I now have what I was after :)....

GullibleOyster,

Nice move! I think you have it correctly mounted though, I wouldn’t put it on a bracket. I used a conversion bracket for direct drive on my Max and I kept getting pulsing issues.

I think they were due to the filament pushing down the hotend slightly when starting to extrude because the hotend is mounted on the compliant strain gauge mount. With your method, it stays isolated and doesn’t push down more on the strain gauge mount when the extrusion starts.

Please give me an update if you can if you run into any other problems!

GullibleOyster,

I personally like the strain gauge as a leveling mechanism, particularly since I added a magnetic build plate. I like the idea of #2, I wonder if you could use a M10 male to make adapter like this: www.ebay.com/itm/404101432925?chn=ps&norover=…

And just connect your adapter plate to the hotend (or tap the orbiter? Idk)

You might need a little printed spacer and a short Bowden tube inside that.

Other little nice things/learnings for the printer I have done other than the spring steel sheet:

If you want an all metal hotend you can replace the heartbreak with a slice engineering copperhead heartbreak (use a G2 type)

If you want color change capabilities, to have finer z adjust, and to have a larger mesh, i recommend trying the following custom firmware (IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT WITH THIS KIND OF STUFF)

Play multiplayer if you have the opportunity!

I just started a fresh run with a friend a couple days ago. I sort of have my DM hat on and am just letting her go around, making her own decisions and mistakes. This is also the first CRPG she’s ever played, and she accidentally clicked on Lae’zel when trying to break her out of the tiefling trap. I was amazed they gave...

GullibleOyster,

I’m having a blast playing 4 player co-op with some buds! The DM of our DnD campaign moved and hasn’t had the chance to set up his computer for our Foundry VTT so this has been a bunch of fun in the meantime.

What open source programs do you recommend for Windows? (Windows exclusive or not)

I am and all my life have been a Linux user, I have nothing against Windows or MacOS, I just like Linux, and lately I have been experimenting with Windows in a virtual machine and I don’t really know much open source software there apart from the one that is cross-platform like Firefox or Joplin....

GullibleOyster,

Shotcut is a great easy to learn video editor I have used a lot.

GullibleOyster,

Idk what this guy is using, but I’ve installed wham bam flex plates on 2 large resin printers and I consider it almost a requirement. It makes print removal super easy and installation is real easy.

GullibleOyster,

Nice! I’ve got a Wagner from around the same time with a similar story, thing is my favorite frying pan!

GullibleOyster,

Yeah, I guess if you wanted to reduce waste you could supply it as logs that get cut off from? That way there is at least less plastic per piece

GullibleOyster,

My friend who used to work there told me her least favorite thing to make was the Mexican pizza because of all of the layers.

GullibleOyster,

Thanks to everyone here! I love how wholesome this community is. I’m using an elecom deft pro.

We just hit 1,250 subscribers! Please comment and post so we can continue to make this community an active and fun place to post. Share your ideas for this group's future, I'd love to hear them.

I can’t believe how quickly this group is growing, it’s only been a little over 2 weeks since this community was created so we could share awe-inspiring photos of the cosmos and we are already well over one thousand subscribers....

GullibleOyster,

I always love these groups for desktop backgrounds, thanks!

GullibleOyster,

They’re definitely a lot happier with the additional light (the room wasn’t this dark, I closed the curtains for effect lol). I just got these off of Amazon but there’s a million of them on there and AliExpress.

I’m going to have to design bigger wall planters now so that I can have bigger plants in dark spaces!

GullibleOyster,

I’ll try to remember when I get home, thanks! I’m not sure if the pots themselves are still sold but if anything I’ll upload my re-creation of it to print.

GullibleOyster,
GullibleOyster,

Sure, they’re all over Amazon and AliExpress, but these were the ones I chose.

Do you find that you're on the fed more than you were on r/ just because you're really really excited to watch your favorite communities become more active?

I do, but as more people join I’m also feeling a little republican - i got my spot and this is good; everyone on the outside can go fuck off now. I don’t want it to get so big that it’s what we left. No intended disrespect or lack of acknowledgment to those who were here before.

GullibleOyster,

I feel your pain about the squatted communities and agree that I wish there was a good laser cutting one. I know a lot of people are frustrated with the squatting so hopefully the lemmy.world admins implement some sort of community request.

GullibleOyster,

What are your niche communities you are looking for? I got lucky that a bunch of mine are semi migrated (3dprinting, houseplants, ergomechboards, etc)

GullibleOyster,

That’s the nice thing about the fediverse, you can have an account on one and participate in communities on both!

GullibleOyster,

Absolutely buying the pro version the second it’s available, Sync WAS reddit for me for the last 11 years.
