Made a set of arrows (29.5", 50/55 spine, 150gn points) for my new bow (Mandarin Duck Devourer, 60" reflex/ deflex 2-piece takedown, 50lb @ 28"). Haven't shot it yet; will try it out next weekend.

My first experiment since I decided to never ask a computer to run an algorithm that I'm not prepared to run myself

@yaxu Cool. Is this a Carnatic taala rhythm that you're also vocalising with Konakkol?
What kind of algorithm would be excluded if using the constraint 'prepared to run yourself'?

oerra, oawn and blubb is a long-lost album by cd_slopper (Florian Hecker & Oswald Berthold @x7557x) from 1998 that was originally hosted on their website. It was re-discovered and retrieved around a year ago by @joegilmore then re-released yesterday by @HelloSpiral on the Memory Glands label. It's an important archive of early glitch computer music, and it still sounds fresh.

What are some nice tracks that have everything hard panned either left or right? Particularly tracks beyond the early stereo era when crazy panning was the default. Orbital's input out is one example but there must be more examples.. People should do this more

GuyBirkin,
@GuyBirkin@post.lurk.org avatar

@yaxu Every AC/DC album & gig has Malcom on the left, Angus on the right. This BBC session was originally uploaded the wrong way round but someone corrected it.

@yaxu A couple of tracks where the stereo field suddenly widens to great effect:
Beastie Boys - Hey Ladies (on the intro riff, 0:10)
Autechre - corc (around 3:30)

Very cool new album by @nnirror, where each track is made by synthesizing audio to image (spectrogram) and then resynthesizing into audio using Facet. Flatland Casts is name your price.

To celebrate a productive, creative and collaborative year with the Tokinogake crew, we put together a compilation of 23 tracks. There's 4 versions of the mix made in different ways. My mix is made by cutting up the tracks at transients and sorting them in order of complexity as measured by the average bit rate of lossless compressed files.

Nice autumnal sunny day down the woods. Went round the first half of the course with two other archers. Scored OK - no arrows lost or broken, but had to stop after pulling a muscle in my shoulder when pulling out arrows from a target. After the recent torrential rains there are masses of everywhere, and the ever-present abundant . Could smell lots of stinkhorn fungi but couldn't always see them.

Small pale jelly-like blobs of fungus growing on a living branch covered in lichen and young mosses
A medium sized pale funnel-shaped fungus among leaf litter on the woodland floor, with pine trees out of focus in the background with a bit of sky between them
Clusters of buff coloured mushrooms with darker orange centres of the caps growing out of a dead but still standing tree, with a few green bramble leaves alongside

@gimulnautti thanks! It's based on a 2D block cellular automaton, a CA that considers two cells at a time instead of one at a time, then converted to 3D voxels, re- coloured and re-shaped
