An hour and 50 years ago, I was born. It was like today, a Thursday and about the same temperature. After my birth I was taken and placed in a humidicrib as I was exhausted. That's my daily vibe 50 years later.
As my previous post points out, this is patently false. Unlisted posts can be searched with the right, perhaps wrong, platform and set of tools. I hope we fix this right across the #fediverse at the #ActivityPub protocol level.
@jo Yeah, the post is technically correct (the worst kind of correct), in that unlisted posts don't show up specifcally in the "explore" tabs on servers, but as you point out, it's still searchable, be it by #tag or keyword depending on the platform. It's very confusing nomenclature, given that on, for instance, youtube, an unlisted video does not appear in BOTH recommendation AND in search results.....
A "feditip" that requires you to understand the intricacies of the fediverse is worse than useless to be honest....
If you're not sure if something is "cultural appropriation" or not, do the work to find out. Find voices from within the culture you are inspired by and listen to them. You won't get a straightforward "yes" or "no", and you need to be prepared for that. It's ok to make mistakes, as long as you own up to them when they are pointed out and do your best to mitigate any harm you may have caused.
As an addendum to this, particularly for white people, please, please put in the work to learn about the history of white supremacy and colonialism and how colonialist attitudes persist to this day. We are all inculcated systemically by these things all the time, and it can be very challenging to break out of them.
But the rewards for doing so, if and when you have the capacity to do so, are immeasurable.
Y'know what, I'm gonna fuckin say it, my posts are bangers, and its a damn shame it's taken this long for a platform like this to come along where i can share this way with the world, i sure as shit wasnt gonna do it on twitter, not even in the before times.

To add to this, I can only be who I am here because I am so fucking queer, and I genuinely weep for all my queer siblings who get little or no opportunities to express themselves.
Those who we fight for, and my story and so many like mine, is why the fight matters so much. Never give up, everyone deserves this feeling!
