Great #opensource story...

The subway system in Montreal is archaic. The system used to buy pass, called OPUS, uses NFC cards, but you can't replenish them online unless you buy a special reader with an old deprecated software.

Apparently, the @stminfo has been planing (not working) for years on a "solution".

Tired of this, Alex Lai, a student of McGill University, developed his own and made it #opensource.

Unfortunately, on an update shared on LinkedIn (https://linkedin.com/search/results/content/?keywords=Alex%20sandpipes&origin=GLOBAL_SEARCH_HEADER&sid=90D) the creator shared that he was asked by the
@stminfo
to take down the code.

Was he threatened ? Was pressure applied ?

Well, through the power of #opensource, someone had copied the code into another GitHub repo before it was taken down. And that copy is now forked 28 times (at the time I am writing this).

Nice try @stminfo , next time learn and leverage #opensource before just taking down great initiatives !

If you have a GitHub account, go fork it, just so that the code lives forever and show the true power of #opensource

My http://co2.click Model E-Lite (located in my basement office) picked up the smoke when we opened the windows around 9h30am as you can see in this graph of PM2.5

At around 12h30, windows were closed and a #corsirosenthalbox started in the basement where the sensor is located. You can clearly see the effect on the PM2.5 levels.
