Jiggle_Physics,

Not only have people, many people, told me this, but also that they are also harvesting the blood of the children.

Jiggle_Physics,

The problem is that, as something that is used first and foremost as a speculation vehicle, crypto can’t really be a true currency replacement. The amount of deflation, and instability, crypto see, due to the design, basically prevents it from ever being a true replacement for contemporary money.

Now, having a block chain credit system that’s availability is not derived in the way that current crypto is could very well be one. Just not what we are being offered now.

Jiggle_Physics,

If you live in a “developed” country, and you are not homeless, you are probably not in that 50%. That 50% largely lives on ~3 dollars a day on average.

It's been around a year since a lot of us quit Reddit, myself included. I'm happy with Lemmy, but I still feel a bit lost online since leaving the old site. Discussion?

Been thinking of making a post like this for some time, apologies if some of this is not completely relevant: this community seems more like it’s about Reddit the platform/product than Reddit the social “thing”, but I’m sure a lot of people have similar experiences to mine. Maybe on some instances more than others....

Jiggle_Physics,

yup, if you can make just one post per day, even if it just to the void, it will be there, with recent posts, in case anyone else interested in the subject moves to lemmy

Jiggle_Physics,

I was on reddit within their first year. It was very much like you just described the lemmy community. The posts were all linux, communism, libertarians, lgbtq, typical nerd media discussion (star trek/wars, dr who, etc), and fringe communities. However, when I started, there was no commenting. That changed a few months later, and there were no sub reddits so it was just like /all and that is it.

This type of community was exactly what I was expecting. Early 4chan was this too. It just seems that these are the people that adopt new social media, and websites, early.

Jiggle_Physics,

Lemmy.ml has a list of words they censor and this person is on lemmy.ml

Jiggle_Physics,

You’re welcome

Jiggle_Physics,

Newsmax: you city people better be scared because we have all the guns

Also Newsmax: Gun laws won’t reduce gun violence, cities are full of guns!

Jiggle_Physics,

Yeah, once they try to take their revolutionary cosplaying to the next level, they will have a rude awakening.

Jiggle_Physics,

Ha, something similar happened to my grandmother, though they claimed to need to read her meters. My grandmother is in her 90s and has a lead a hard as fuck life, she takes zero shit. So she immediately thought it was odd that they didn’t say which utility meter they needed to look at, nor did their uniforms have anything more than vague identifiers on it. So she said oh? which meter? What utility? She said they stammered a bit but said water, and she said, ok, the water meter is right there, pointing to the meter in the back of her car-port. Then they tried to come up with some BS about how they need to get the “other” meter readings at her water-heater. She knows that isn’t a thing. So she said there isn’t such a thing, you need to leave. They immediately started to argue and she said “I have no qualms shooting two men trying to rob me”. They left, they were yelling they would tell the police, their utilities company, the department of public works, etc. She said she needed to take her heart medication right afterword, but was otherwise fine. Well guess what? Nothing came of it. Thing is, she keeps a small gauge shot-gun next to the door and would have, indeed, shot them if they tried to get inside.

Jiggle_Physics,

A way I have found to explain federated social media to people, that seems to work is this: Imagine reddit, but instead of one company, with one administration, owning the whole site, it is a bunch of different reddits, that are independently run, that choose which other reddits they wish to associate themselves with. When you log into one instance, you automatically can see, and interact with, all the other ones that one chooses to associate with. You can have accounts on as many instances as you would like, even having accounts on instances that do no associate with each other.

Jiggle_Physics,

Can we lower him in it upside-down? That would be more painful, but would also kill him a lot faster… Hmmm, the long term affects would probably be worse.

Jiggle_Physics,

He is setting an example. He is an example that you can stack the supreme court with people who will do the bidding of their party, law be damned, and there is little to nothing to be done about it, at least not before it is too late. He is finally in a position where he doesn’t have to keep up with the act so much anymore.

Jiggle_Physics,

Gee, who could have guessed that a beauty pageant wasn’t actually working towards the empowerment of women? Good to have hard proof though.

Jiggle_Physics,

This really depends. I have seen people go from meh muscle build to pretty damn jacked after a year of hard work, and as much gear as they could find.

Jiggle_Physics,

Oh yeah, agree, genetics does play a significant part. Just commenting that I have seen people go from a normal build to pretty built in that time if the right risks are taken.

Jiggle_Physics,

Yeah, I wasn’t commenting on any of that. Regardless how dude looks, assuming it’s real, consent is absolute. Just pointing out that I have seen people get jacked in a year, if the right risks are taken and the hard work is put in.

Jiggle_Physics,

Agreed. Even now the keyboard is about the size of my thumb. I hate typing on mobile.

Jiggle_Physics,

Patrick Bet David is a right wing, jingoist, religion pushing, bigot who’s primary income come from an MLM financial services company. So… yeah.

Oh looking at their comment history, eugenics idealization, anti-democratic sentiments, anti-DEI virtue signaling, and this is all before I had to hit next.

Jiggle_Physics,

Awww, the eugenicist, who wants to get rid of democracy thinking that will make authoritarianism less likely, is calling people names. How cute.

Now, go back to your online MLM gurus, and pseudoscience beliefs, sweetie.

Jiggle_Physics, (edited )

If you don’t think major media outlets run propaganda to protect the interests of the countries they work in, and the people they work for, I have bad news for you.

Jiggle_Physics,

And choosing selling ads vs being a decent news company and having good, balanced, reporting they nefariously choose to take profit by manufacturing controversy. They, as in the the news in general, also have a history of coming to the defense of the oil industry, and shitting on anything in competition to it, because it is a vital venue for US imperialism, or economic influence, as they might say. It has proven so intentional that they call everything they say on this subject into question. You are free to feel that these economic interests don’t play a significant factor in the broader operations of why they release the articles they do, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t that way.

Jiggle_Physics,

Yeah, it physically pushed her away, then went back to digging for food in her bags. She had ample opportunity to just walk away after doing something disastrously stupid to a meat tank. Then she decided to do something even more provocative right after brushing with death.
