I went to some palestine protests a while back, and was talking to my brother about the organizing, when revealed something I found pretty shocking, we (the protesters) had acquired a permit to hold the protest. Apparently this is standard policy across the US....
Same thing in Canada, “freedom of speech and protest” as long as it is in line with whatever narrative and beliefs the government is putting forth. Because government knows what’s best, right?? 😒 who would have thought in 1984…oh wait 2024, feels like 1984 sometimes 😒
I’m thinking of getting a second phone to ease off iOS. It has been good for productivity stuff but the closed off nature of the device keeps disrupting my plans. Everything is either expensive or ad ridden. (Except floccus, floccus is awesome)...
With the crowd here, I have completely de-googled my life, also hate google, and the data mining nightmare that comes along with it…but in the end. The pixel phones (with grapheneos) are the most secure and private out there, or one of the most should say, ya know seems odd that a phone by such a data hungry company, can be made into exactly the opposite. Have had 0 issues since running grapheneos on my pixel 6
Hi, you guys might know me from these three posts. After reading all of the comments, I’ve decided to purchase a Mini PC to host public instances of privacy-respecting services....
I’ve been super happy with mikrotik, currently running mikrotik hex s, and ubiquity u6-lr for wifi, have had 0 issues, no need to reboot etc. Plenty of customizing if desired. A learning curve tho if you do want to start messing around
Ya been rocking it I’d say close to 2 years no 0 issues. The old ISP modem had to be rebooted every few weeks before I had the mikrotik and unify combo… And the hex s is super cheap to buy now!
Currently looking at this meme, working in EMS. And currently on shift right now, wouldn’t have it any other way, very rewarding job, pay is pretty decent (in Canada). This girl did alright than in this meme
The US’s latest attempt to chill speech online, KOSA-a bill to effectively force everyone to identify themselves to online platforms-is picking up steam and looking like it will pass the Senate.

I have managed to get @protonmail notifications working on a GSF free @GrapheneOS phone by ... running the proton bridge on a @debian virtual machine and IMAP idle polling it with a shell script. The script then sends a request to @ntfy and boom mail alerts are back. Also that's geek bingo for me.
Oooooooo would you mind sharing the script? Hosted on github? I’m also running grapheneos and hosting ntfy on a raspberry pi… I can run proton bridge on there too (pi os) I’ve been writing some scripts and super curious on how you achieved this and would love to get notifications again on proton 😂 thanks!
At the moment I am thinking about getting a new phone in the foreseeable future. I was long time using android, but switched to iOS 5 years ago because of the longer update period. Now also some android devices offer a longer update support of about 5 years. Now I am thinking about switching back to android....
No issues with banking apps!!! Not for me at least, bootloader gets relocked when installing graphene, I used to maintain a ROM for the s4 back in the day, and knows it was a pain with banking apps due to safetynet I think it was. And ya super ironic its a google phone 😂

Doesn't the need for a permit fundamentally contradict the US's ideals of free speech?
