The guy with the aggressive dog has been trespassed from my building. Staff saw him leave with his dog. Got a call from the animal control officer who will be taking the case. She asked if I wanted a verbal warning or to press charges. I said charges because the guy is irresponsible and won't listen to verbal warnings. She said she doesn't think she'll even be able to make it so the dog has to be muzzled. She's supposed to come talk to me tomorrow, and get statements from staff who witnessed it.

@bmoore123 Not anymore. He was evicted, he's living in a homeless encampment now. He can't take the dog to the encampment because it will attack dogs there, and potentially people. He's been leaving it with random neighbours on the second and third floor of my building.

@bmoore123 Yeah, well him and the dog are trespassed from the building. I'm just concerned that they won't stay away, because he's friends with some of my neighbours. And deals drugs to a lot of them, which means he's losing business if he stays away.

Positive news for the day: The doctor filled out forms for me to get an accessible parking permit! Fingers crossed that it gets approved. This would be so majorly helpful for me, particularly on high pain days! I don't drive, but sometimes, I get rides places and all the walking can make my pain worse.

Just got home from watching my parents' dog for two weeks. That was QUITE the adventure. My dogs sure loved having a whole house with a fenced yard to play in, though! But I'm happy to be back in my own bed. And also not having to deal with a dog that barks at basically every single noise 😂

Part 2/2 She then chose to physically assault one of the building staff (pushed her into my rollator with both hands). She has been terrorizing both staff and residents here for over a year, but nothing ever gets done. She acts completely different and nice, polite etc. as soon as police are called or she is in front of a psychiatrist. She has been yelling verbal abuse at both tenants and staff for over a year while following them around the building. She also keeps people up yelling late.

@bmoore123 @bmoore123 No, multiple tenants have complained to the staff and nothing ever gets done. Both tenants and staff have called the police and nothing ever happens with them either. Making a video would unfortunately only cause her to escalate further...

The vet only prescribed Haven 2 weeks worth of pain meds. Apparently they think she has 2 weeks or less to live… I can’t believe this is happening. She was my first service dog, and I really don’t know how to explain that bond…

X-ray results have brought even worse news about my retired service dog’s health. She has very bad cancer, and only has about a month to live. Her hips are also very bad. Shes prescribed pain meds… that’s all we can do for her now 💔

BOTH of my dogs finally have pet insurance! I’m so relieved. I found a much more affordable company with great reviews, so I was able to get a plan for both dogs! There are of course minimum annual payouts and they only cover a certain percentage. Ellie’s plan isn’t as great as Lucy’s, because she’s much older and also has a bunch of pre-existing conditions. It’s a financial stretch for me, but it’s sure peace of mind and could come in handy.

@bmoore123 I went with Fetch pet insurance. I’ve seen good reviews, and I have two good friends who are service dog handlers who’ve had good experiences with them. Ellie will be 7 tomorrow, and their price was so much more reasonable than the other big company I had looked at (Trupanion).
