lemmy.ml is overloaded, use other instances instead
This site is currently struggling to handle the amount of new users. I have already upgraded the server, but it will go down regardless if half of Reddit tries to join....
What niche reddit community do you want to see find a place on the fediverse?
Personally i'm looking forward to seeing twobestfriendsplay, arkhamasylum, whowouldwin, and respectthreads, on here.

What Are Some Great Android Open Source Alternative Apps?
I've recently decided to switch out my Playstore apps for Open Source Apps as they're usually Ad Free and much less bloated. Can we use this thread to help people find open source android apps?...
Commenting across instances
If I registered at lemmy.world, is it possible to still comment on a thread at say lemmy.ml? I get the expected "You are not logged in" and while subscribing is easy enough, I'm not able to comment or interact with other instances. This seems normal as users are unique per instance, I just want to make sure I'm not missing a key...
Other use cases for the fediverse
I never got into mastodon because I couldn't connect multiple instances. I like this a lot about Lemmy so far (just here for a few minutes though)....

Is there already a Fediverse compatibility matrix?
Does anyone know of a Fediverse / ActivityPub compatibility list I can contribute to? I've found lots of feature comparisons, statistics databases and so on. But I'd like to help find and squash bugs in interoperability. If someone's already doing this I'll add my findings there, or I can just post my notes somewhere.

Is lemmy crawler friendly?
What I mean by this is... Is it as friendly as Reddit is to provide full public access on a Google search, allowing search engines to fully index each post correctly? Or is it like Instagram where almost nothing but profiles are indexed?
