Knitwear,

Democracy doesn’t need to be over thrown when you can just gradually throw it away

Fuck this

Is there an artist so horrible that no matter how hard you try that you cannot separate their art from them?

Similar to the recent question about artists where you can successfully separate them from their art. Are there any artists who did something so horrible, so despicable, that it has instantly invalidated all art that they have had any part in?

Marlon Brando

After hearing from Maria Schneider, and confirmed by Bertolucci, how he and Brando treated her filming the rape scenes in Last Tango my Brando crush instantly withered on the vine. She was only 19.

Knitwear,

Is she using the ol’trojan deer ruse to escape him?

Even slightly inconveniencing internet sensation Amy Dallen in any way should be illegal

Knitwear,

Yup, she announced on xitter and bluesky. She’s one of the best voices in the TTRPG space so hopefully opportunities abound

Knitwear,

Bet they get cancelled after the first boss heyyyoooo (drum drum cymbal sting)

Knitwear,

Pugh elevates everything she’s in. Half her roles are serviceable on paper but incredible on screen

TIL how Carroll O'Connor became Archie Bunker (en.wikipedia.org)

The character Archie Bunker in All In The Family was originally offered to Mickey Rooney, who declined. Carroll O'Connor lived in Europe, and accepted the role only because he thought the show would fail and he could go home, so much so that part of his contract with Norman Lear included a return plane ticket to Rome so that he...

Knitwear,

For those that are curious, the incomparable Matt Baume has some great videos on YouTube about the series and about Lear. I’m not American, I have no nostalgia for this series and have never seen it, and I still found it fascinating

Knitwear,

Are those stoats‽…they’re so sneaky… No, Stay Back!..

Knitwear,

With a mere 243min you can be in the top 2% of Dolly Parton listeners which, tbh, seems low

Knitwear,

(sees comment history)

For real, are you ok?

Knitwear,

I haven’t watched this but I already prefer the Jenna Marbles version that exists only in my mind

Knitwear,

and it’s filled…with…BEEEEEEEES!

[DISCUSSION] What director(s) do you think have the best filmography?

I was checking out the new season of Fargo, which made me want to rewatch the 1996 movie and I got to thinking, the Coen Brothers have a fantastic filmography. They have way more hits than misses and they make some of the most interesting movies out there. No Country for Old Men is probably one of my favorites of all time. So...

Knitwear,

Maybe this is where we need a distinction between “important” and “best”? idk

Knitwear,

Fascinated by this fantastical material which is

  • winter wear, yet
  • sheer enough to show not only hilltops but even the secret valley betwixt them
  • has belt loops
Knitwear,
