First nachtvlinder flowers fully open. If you look closely, you can see the bit of blue in the centres. Such a lovely salvia, purported to help reduce black spot on roses when underplated, & smells like lemon when you brush your hands over it. One of those plants I always have to have. #gardening @gardening

Outside, daytime at a hedgehog feeding station in the corner of where a grey porch meets a brick house. A juvenile robin is in the middle of the gravel area where the feeder is. It looks around, then hops to the water dish near the brick wall to the left of the screen. It gets a quick drink, then hops left around the frog house next to the water dish, stops, then hops out of sight. A juvenile looks much like the adult, except its back is a mottled brown & the breast is tan with brown spots on it. There's a smidgeon of reddish yellow at this one's throat, but overall, very mute colouring at this stage.

Honey garlic in stages. #gardening @gardening

Outside daytime. Another honey garlic flower cluster with the outer membrane gone, the tiny purple & green buds standing up & bending over, but none open.

Outside daytime. Close up of a flower spike from the same plant. There are buds along the dark purple stem with fuzzy lines on them that look like vertical stripes. The top of the step has a single bud cluster that has 3 points.

Outside at night, a hedgehog feeding area. The hut is in front of the camera but the hog is to the right by the plastic drinking bowl. As it drinks, it tips the bowl on its side at 180 degrees from the ground. The hog's face is in the now upright bowl & it simply stays that way.

Sycamore maple's in bloom. It's cheek & jowl with the holly, so most likely self seeded. (There's also a rose growing up through them!) Will be a headache for the landlord a few years down the road, as it's close to the fence. Landlord lets all sorts fall to bits (literally - the light in the gardage fell down a few days ago), so maybe he won't care about the fence either. #gardening @gardening

Closer view of a flower spike showing the open flowers on the bottom of it with a rounded yellow pistal. The top of the spike where the flowers haven't opened are a series of green scale shaped buds clasped tightly together. Gravel out of focus in the background, along with the tops of the plants in the other pots.
Close up of just the open flowers which shows the blue stamens & yellow anthers as well as the pistal. The is some spider webbing on the back petals & something like a dandelion fluff seed on one of the front petals, but the dandelions are in bloom, so another type of seed.
