Annual forced-birth march draws disruption, extremists
On the 19th of January, the so-called "March4Life" marched on the Supreme Court in Washington DC
Both on the Mall and at the Supreme Court they faced solo or paired counterprotesters with loud bullhorns. On the Mall, cops removed them but at SCOTUS they were able to stay put.
Some of the lowlights of the march were "Make more Babies" signs carried by a number of marchers, and the appearance of the Christian Nationalist group "New Columbia Movement." They met up with Patriot Front, but here the crowd drew a line.
Citing the fact that Patriot Front was at Charlottesville (as American Vanguard) other forced-birth marchers jeered them. As the march began, they threw in the towel and left: a few (presumably Rousseau and his top henchment) by a rented U-haul truck and the rest by Red Line Metro. They got off at Shady Grove.
Also present were signs supporting the "White Rose Resistance" a name associated in the past with clinic bombing, and other signs mentioning guns or with variations on the Gasden (rattlesnake) flag. These imply potential militia activity around abortion.
Some of the same old lies told as propaganda in previous wars are now being recycled. Israeli media are claiming to have found beheaded babies at one of the sites raided by Hamas.
This should be presumed false unless proven otherwise. Remember those proven false claims during the first Iraq War of Iraqi soldiers unplugging incubators in Kuwait?
These sort of stories are even older than that, much older.
My father fought in WWII. He told me that the Americans accused the Japanese AND the Japanese accused the Americans of roasting babies on bayonets. He also told me this was thankfully false on both sides, it was just hot air from propagandists trying to whip up support for the war among their general public.
In WWI the Brits and Americans accused the Germans of literally crucifying a Canadian soldier. That too was total crap, as was a German claim of U-boat sailors being thrown alive into a destroyer's boiler furnaces.
Speaking of attacks and price tags, a Catholic group is whining that there have been 202 attacks on Catholic churches since the Dobbs decision's initial leak. Of these, 83 were this year.

As far as I know, NOT ONE of these attacks placed parishioners in any danger. attacks are quoted as "acts of arson which damaged or destroyed historic churches; spray-painting and graffiti of satanic messages; rocks and bricks thrown through windows; statues destroyed (often with heads cut off); and illegal disruptions of Mass." All fires I have seen reported in the corporate press have been late-night attacks on empty buildings under the normal US rules of engagement dating back to the Vietnam War.
Also note the site above claims 75% of those hitting these churches get away clean.
Right wing churches (NOT just Catholic, certain Protestants are much worse) are behind abortion laws that are killing people, and the worst of them are responsible for radicalizing and motivating the terrorists that shoot up LGBTQ events and venues.
Our community strikes back for this, but NOT ONCE have we placed innocent lives in danger. We cannot repay a shooting attack on a Gay bar with a shooting attack on a fashy church because most of the parishioners learn of the attack from the news. Not only that, LGBTQ kids forced by parents to attend these churches would be in the line of fire.
Instead, our best warriors launch intentionally nonlethal counterstrikes using measured force, at this point using property-damage-only tactics that date back at least to the Weather Underground if not earlier.
Gaza protesters block entry to Towson Mall N of Baltimore
On November 24, Protesters blocked the entrance to Towson Mall. The cops were called Zionists in chants after pushing them to the sidewalk for the benefit Black Friday shoppers.

This as a short cease-fire and prisoner exchange is allowing some hostages held both in Israel's jails and those held by Hamas to return home, three held by Israel (holding 1,500) for every hostage held by Hamas (holding 240 initially). First exchange was 24 Israelis freed and 39 Palestinians freed, hopefully more to come.Still, Israel says they plan two more months of war after this pause is over. Protesters are demanding a permanent cease-fire.
As of Tuesday, the Washington Post reports that 290 have diverted or been scheduled to divert from the Red Sea. The Houthi warriors are only targetting ships suspected of travelling to Israel, but shippers are avoiding the area with all their ships.
Because of the expense of the longer trip around Africa's Cape of Good Hope, shopping while bombs are dropping is expected to cost significantly more. Food and fuel are not expected to be impacted due to shorter travel distances.

When I was in NYC for the 2004 RNC protests barely after the 2nd Intifada,it was reportedly a rule that any attack on any synagogue or any mosque led to a security alert at every synagogue and every mosque in the city. This as the enemies were usually the same.

The Colorado GOP (or should I say the Colorado KKK?) has just appealed the CO Supreme Court's ruling disqualifiying Trump from the 2024 ballot on 14th Amendment/insurrection grounds.
This puts Trump back on the ballot there until either SCOTUS declines to hear the case or upholds the state court's ruling. If SCOTUS overturns that ruling, the 14th Amendment challenges are thrown out in every state trying to keep Chump off the ballot.

A false signature on this affidavit (required presumably for ALL Florida license replacements would be defined as specifying on the application any revised gender and would be grounds for automatic drivers license revocation. US Secretary of "Defense" gets home demo over Gaza
One of the lesser known effects of the genocide in Gaza is that Palestine's Christians are now at risk of complete expulsion or extermination(for the first time in 2000 years!), not by Muslims but by Israel. Since Palestinian Christians cannot celebrate Christmas in peace, anti-genocide activsts decided US Secretary of Defense Loyd Austin cannot either!
Protesters gathered outside his suburban home in Fairfax, Va with mock bloody Christmas presents from Raytheon, General Dynamics, Boeing, and Northrup-Grumman. When cops showed up, got too close to the sound system, and seemed interested in pushing the protest away, they advanced on the beseiged sound system chanting "Move, cops, get out of the way! We know you're Israeli trained!"
Times of Israel also screaming about the sheer effectiveness of the Houthi sea denial strategy at repelling shipping to and from Israel. Shippers have to buy $$$ war risk insurance. Now, the Houthi warriors (previously best known for knocking out Saudi oil facilities with missiles and even firing at the palace!) have become so powerful, many shipping firms are going around the Cape of Good Hope to avoid the Red Sea-and Houthi might.
This longer trip takes three months from Asia-and makes goods with a three month or less shelf life unimportable from Asia. Israel made this bed themselves by going to war, now they must lie in it. They have effectively beseiged themselves.

If it's antisemitic to oppose Israel's war, how come DC's progressive Jewish community is putting up such a tough fight against it?
They have beseiged the White House, protested inside Congressional office buildings, forced the DNC to evacuate (w nothing more than an arm-locked blockade!), and were present when Union Station shut down in shudders of fear of protesters two days after the DNC action.

Just remember: last time the Crusaders were in Jerusalem, it took 160 years to drive them out. By that timetable we could be only halfway through the war that started in 1948. Yet in this battle, I see people tiring just six MONTHS after things escalated last October. Palestine protests that used to draw thousands now draw hundreds.
