Entire House Has Covid But Me Update:

Dreamed I had Covid and someone ripped my mask off at a party that I both didn't want to be at and also couldn't leave. Not a good sign.

Woke up a little tired and with a slight headache but still testing negative. A good sign.

Still believe I am infected but having a weirdly long incubation period due to being a special little guy.

@BetaCuck4Lyfe Also possible that your immune system may have repelled or be continuously holding off new exposures in a covid-containing environment. Just the load of that can tire you in some cases.

Note that even the worst vaccine/varient matchups have been at least 30% effective in blocking infection entirely, you could be in that 30%.

Imagine serving aboard a ship in contested waters, and the command "stand by to repel boarders" is going out several times a day. Quite tiring, and that may be exactly what's going on in your body.

Statement from Gaza read at pro-Palestine protest at Orlando's "Trump Corner

The intersection of FL 436 and US 92/US 17 north of Orlando has long been known as "Trump Corner" due to MAGA meatheads protesting there. On the 28th of March, pro-Palestine protesters took it over, repurposing this highly visible site at the intersection of two highways.

During the protest, a statement sent from Occupied Gaza was read out. The statement recounted horrific events in Gaza such as children in the north starving. Also in the statement was a vow to refuse to surrender and hold out for either victory or martyrdom, emphasizing that people there love their land and are refusing to yield it to the invaders.

Mass surveillance and "broken windows" policing are merging to attack a specific enemy across the world: mass protest.

https://restofworld.org/2024/facial-recognition-government-protest-surveillance/

LukefromDC, (edited )
@LukefromDC@kolektiva.social avatar

@igd_news The electronic battlefield is in fact just another battlefield. Just as on any other, this means we can examine the battlefield to determine where it favors the Enemy and where it favors us.

An obvious example: it is easily seen that the Moscow Metro mentioned in the article is obviously unsafe and used as a honeypot. If the actual activists stop using it, false positives from the facial recognition cameras will send the cops on many ghost hunts.

Counters to this sort of things are many. First and foremost, the use of policing to suppress peaceful protest has caused antiwar activists in Putin's Russia to resort to other, more effective tactics such as incinerating conscription centers and derailing arms trains. Many of these folks never attended a protest and are all but invisible to this type of policing.

Second of all, most of this electronic surveillance can be compared to a road full of license plate reading and traffic enforcement cameras. That system is blind to an unlicensed dirt biker riding an unregistered motorcycle with no plates as well as to cyclists and pedestrians.

Similarly, the combination of dark sunglasses with a covid mask can render many facial recognition systems ineffective at a distance. Usually they still "work" but the results are uselessly spammed with false positives.

These systems can also be exploited. A flash mob of "the usual suspects" or just a fake black bloc actually composed of pacifists can position the cops exactly where you want them, clearing the way for a direct action somewhere else.

Imagine drawing all the cops in Atlanta to Cop City with a fake protest when a convention downtown is the real target!

Also, any time police snatch squads are an issue within protests that have already assembled, there is exactly one defense: that is to treat the entry into the crowd by any cop as an attack and immediately counterattack. Wrap up any likely targets in the center of the crowd, then get them to safety ASAP unless the crowd is so strong as to have at least melee combat superiority over the cops.

You won't be attacked anyway if the cops think you are stronger than they are, instead all the undercovers will be loudly pushing "nonviolence." Been there, seen this. It's when cops have the upper hand (and only then) that undercovers will throw rocks.

Getting people to look straight at the camera up close to pay for something or pass though "security" obviously changes the whole situation when it comes to defeating facial recognition cameras. This is the one situation where it actually seems to work.

That means when you are going to a protest where warrants, pre-emptive arrests, or even pre-emptive detention are possible, do not shop or enter any building in the same city unless you live there. Stay under the radar just as an attack pilot flying at treetop level does.

Do not drive because of license plate readers, and if you cannot pay with cash and while wearing a mask and sunglasses don't take the bus or subway either. Walking and biking are safest.

Never attend any protest where you would have to pass through a "security" checkpoint, this should go without saying.

If an area is so dominated by a combination of surveillance and policing that it is not possible to safely walk around, that area is best considered closed and placed under siege from the outside.

When protest escalates to battle and weapons are used, drones are of course vulnerable both to electronic interference and to shotguns. Remember that this is true for drones used by BOTH sides.

During the Uprising in DC in 2020, in one of the world's most policed of all cities, police air power was neutralized within three weeks. At first we were attacked from the air by such means as that Black Hawk hovering at 50 feet trying to use the rotor wash to knock people down, but we soon turned the tables.

Once people started shooting off big fireworks and shining lasers into the sky, no helicopter pilot would dare get close. Next time it will be drones, note that if the DLJ drones get banned they will be a competitor's commercial drones, otherwise they will be DLJ. These drones like most others can be set to hover, land, or fly "home" if the control signal is lost. In some cases this means they can be captured by doing nothing more than firing up a more powerful transmitter on the drone's control frequency!

Speaking of DLJ: never use DLJ drones with computers that refuse to fly in no-fly zones for anything else illegal! This company requires accounts for at least some kinds of flights, can potentially track user locations, and could theoretically under a request from a government fly the drone to a police pickup point. Their drones are used in Ukraine but if China gets to close to Russia all the DLJ drones in Ukraine would be at risk for being shut down at once.

Five years from now, the only DLJ drones usable by our side in protests may be drones with the entire computer replaced with something like a Raspberry Pi, taking the manufacturer and the government all the way out of the control loop.

Yes, Big Brother remains vulnerable to Little Brother, and the chessboard remains level

Abortion rights protesters face off with PAAU forced-birth counterprotesters as SCOTUS hears abortion pill case

On the 26th of March, the U$ Supreme Court held oral arguments in a case brought by pro-forced birth doctors challenging the FDA's approval of mifepristone.

Outside the Supreme Court, abortion rights protesters stood their ground against screaming harassment by so-called "Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising." This is the group best known for stealing fetuses.

Inside, observers from many publications reported SCOTUS appears inclined to punt this one away on grounds that the original plaintiffs did not have standing to bring their case. This would leave in place the appeals court ruling overturning a trial court ruling revoking abortion pill approval.

Other healthcare professionals and even Big Pharma bosses warned that if SCOTUS permits any court to overturn any approval of any drug by FDA, that will sow chaos by making the legal status of every drug on the market difficult to predict going forward.

Genocide is now officially on both sides of the ballot in the US:

Trump's son-in-law and former ambassador to Israel
has endorsed calls from Israel's far right to annex the West Bank and expel the entire population of Gaza.

This means US voters get to choose between the man who armed Israel's genocide in Gaza and the man whose agents are calling for finishing that genocide, who is also the man who moved the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Genocide on both sides of the ballot means NO is not on the ballot, or is on the ballot only because it is prevented from winning.

We should be allowed to vote NO for president entirely, with the office left vacant if "None of the Above" wins.

Sickening brutality and systemic State violence on display by law enforcement across the US this week.

CW: Racist abuse and sexual assault.

In Mississippi, officers who belonged to a self-described "Goon Squad" were sentenced for torturing two Black men in what is described as a "nightmare of racially motivated beatings, torture, sexual assaults and even a mock execution," after officers broke into a home without a warrant following complaints by neighbors that "several Black men were staying at a White woman’s home." One man was even shot by officers, after they placed a gun inside of his mouth.

Officers attempted a cover up by planting drugs, stealing surveillance footage, and agreeing on a cover story. They made it clear to their victims that they were inflicting this violence because the two Black men were in what was considered a white area of town. This was not an isolated incident, community members report that these officers terrified people for years.

Meanwhile in the bay area, "FBI agents raided a federal women’s prison in California this week so plagued by sexual abuse that it was known among inmates and workers as the “rape club.” Officials are also facing charges for retaliating against prisoners who filed a class-action lawsuit against the abuse. As one attorney on the case stated, "There is no accountability...and the sexual abuse keeps festering and festering until it blows up. They tend to shuffle the offenders. Officials in prisons can be the worst because they are so jaded that all the complaints fall on deaf ears about the guards.”

This brutality is endemic to a system based on violent settler-colonial subjugation, class rule, patriarchy, and white supremacy. It cannot be reformed - only abolished and thrown to the dust-bin of history.

@NatalieDavis There is a very effective way to counter this brutality: armed convoys defended by infantry with antitank and antiair rockets, escorted by tanks, and with fighter jet air cover to suppress air attacks. If all the powers objecting to the famine want to step up like Yemen does instead of twiddle their thumbs like they have been doing, they most certainly have the assets and resources to do this.

Time for a combined arms blockade busting operation folks! Same idea as a John Brown Gun Club chapter keeping the cops off Food Not Bombs, just on a far larger scale.

At this point, Israel is acting a lot like Daesh (ISIS) when they were blockading the Yazidis in the Sinjar mountains. Only armed force was ever effective in dealing with Daesh, and the same is probably true again.

@LukefromDC@kolektiva.social avatar

@ozzy @NatalieDavis speaking of hostages, Israel cannot expect their surviving hostages held in Gaza (those not already killed by bombing) to be able to eat if nobody else is able to eat in Gaza. Tampa Pride reportback

On the 23ed of March, Tampa Pride's parade took to the streets. The "ROTC" drill team with flags put on a very good performance. The name is appropriate considering the ugly times we live in and the dire threat posed by the probable results of the 2024 election and/or a Trump coup.

There is always a sour note at any parade and this was no exception. At least the cops and Mayor Jane Castor (a notorious supporter of Israeli business interests in Tampa) were soon out of the way after going first, right after the lead contingent. Also, anti-LGBTQ dog whistler Chris Nelson's self-hating "Gays against Groomers" had their propaganda truck parked on 15th st about two blocks from the parade route. They were parked in a no-parking zone, complaints about the illegally parked truck were ignored. There was a rainbow tow truck in the parade, which would have been perfect for towing this truck to the junkyard.

While "Gays against Groomers" apparently attempted to put their stickers up on the parade route, only one was seen by the author of this report, it was quickly removed.

This was a full-featured Pride parade with a big crowd. Many parade contingents (known as Krewes like in New Orleans) featured mock pirate ships in reference to Tampa Bay's well-known past as a haven of pirates and buccaneers. Buccaneers raided the huge galleons of the Spanish Main.

These ships were loaded with gold and valuable stolen from the Indigenous population in this hemispere. The colonists (knownm as Gauchupines or "spur-wearers") relied on slave labor to mine this gold, setting an ugly pattern that continues today with multinational mining corporations preying on nations of the Global South. Like Yemen fighting for Palestine today, the buccaneers opposing them exacted an economic price from those responsible for colonialism and genocide. Pirate ships were normally run as democracies, with the captain having no power except in battle and no special privilige except a double share of the loot.

Update: this "suspension" is overturned for now, but Telegram and its users should assume this will be back if not in Spain somewhere else.

It should be possible to bridge Telegram past the blocks, possibly by routing though tor, disguising it as other traffic like Signal does in censored areas, or something similar.

Telegram did the right thing by refusing to cooperate with Spanish courts in cases brought by the copythugs. Now its time to back this up by taking things to the next level. That means rolling out automatic countermeasures to blocking in a new version of the app itself, and to distribute the app by many channels to make blocking downloads futile.

From my understanding, Signal is by comparison is difficult to block, because their crew actively defies governments of countries they don't live in that attempt to block Signal or make demands under threat of blocking.

Zero voluntary cooperation, absolute and total resistance and defiance with no holds barred is how you fight these assholes.

@QW5kcmVhIEVuem8gTGF0dG1hbm417 @mudaste Signal has faced two contrary problems in dealing with Iran: if all texting is blocked (is this fulltime or intermittant?) than the verification message cannot be received.

If verification is weak, a government like Iran could attempt to register all possible phone numbers on their exchanges for themselves, thus blocking Signal indirectly. That's bypassabe via Google Voice (NOT for use in the US or UK due to security!), but only if the regime in question doesn't also block Google. Few however would easily figure that one out though

LukefromDC,

@D_cence Let them remember we have our own drones, by now probably everyone does. During the initial assault on Oct 7, Hamas used apparently all of their stock of precision guided one-way drones to destroy the automated machine gun turrets the Israelis had mounted on the Apartheid wall. The destruction of those (illegal even in war) autonomous machinegun turrets paved the way for "anything's possible with Caterpillar," namely the wholesale bulldozing of the Wall. The majority of Palestinians using those breaches BTW were civilians, who went into Egypt not Israel, to shop not to loot, buying things made unavailable for years by the blockade.

When I was in the Uprising in DC in 2020, we took air defense seriously after that infamous July 1 2020 Black Hawk attack. That was the evening where a Black Hawk normally used for military medivac was repurposed to try and blow people off their feet with the rotor wash. From then on, we had fireworks rockets, fireworks mortars, and lasers that could reach up high enough to encourage the cops to stay on the ground or fly somewhere else.

He fled when police were called. Prior to this appearance, Meich was arrested on July 4th in Bergen County, NJ, for making terroristic threats of violence, though we have been unable to confirm the target of those threats. As far as we are aware, all of his threats and harassment were through online communication until his appearance in Asbury Park, therefore this is a serious escalation. Meich, who also has a record of domestic violence, should be regarded as dangerous, and the queer community should take measures to protect themselves.
