This is both terrifying and fascinating at the same time. The potential in either direction is immense, imagine having a soundtrack to daily life tailored to what is happening? Would you hear boss music if you mess up at work/school/etc?
How is this viewed by the user is a good question as well. If it’s broadcast on a speaker/projector that everyone else can see what the ai is showing us as well. If it’s only viewable to us by either implants or some sort of smart glass technology then it’s “private” to the user.
Like you mention, the potential abuse of this system is unimaginable. Ads shown directly in our vision, a paid tier that is ad free. Music is shown to be able to effect emotional state easily (movies as an example), what if the soundtrack is used to emphasize certain goals. The ai pushes you to buy a certain car brand over another because said car brand paid the ai company more.
In organic cells there is a cell membrane that is semi permeable, it only allows very small things to pass through it (water molecules, other smaller molecules, etc). Otherwise you need an active or passive method of passing through the cell membrane. One of the ways is with transport proteins (and an energy source) which sort of act like locks. Or so what I remember from highschool biology.
The joke is that the proteins the prisoner received in the mail enable him to escape the jail by passing through the cell wall (membrane).
Even if the corporation that holds onto the genetic data isn’t selling it for profit (which I doubt), they still likely have terrible security on their servers. How many data breaches have there been over the years?
Also, if the person has a protracted fight with a disease or simply old age (ie anything that isn’t a sudden death) they rarely look like themselves. One elderly family member had an open casket and I could barely recognize them, they wasted away to half of their normal size.
