If nothing interesting happens in the game for 8 or 3 hours, why would you willingly play it? Also, why is Sonic only 2⅔ times faster than a bus, isn’t the point of Sonic that he can run at the speed of sound?

I will forever refer to him as David Quality-Escape Calhoun. He should be in jail, and we must not let Boeing design and manufacture the prison facility, because a quality escape would lead to a prison escape.
The smartphone market has matured, so there is less of a difference between each generation. Earlier on there was a massive difference in performance:
The OG Galaxy S had 512MB of RAM, 8GB storage, and a single Arm A8 core at 1GHz, and the SII had 1GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, and a dual core A9 at 1.2GHz. This is a single generation with double the RAM and more than double CPU power, and nearly 6x the GPU power (theoretically), and 2-4 times the storage.
Then the SIII came out with a quad core SoC 1.4GHz, a much larger screen with higher resolution (jumping from 480p to 720p), significantly bigger battery, and up to 64GB of storage.
The S4 doubled the RAM to 2GB, faster storage, significantly faster and more efficient SoC, a larger, 1080p display paired with a much more powerful GPU, and a significantly larger battery as well.
Back then, if you had the money, there was a considerable difference between each generation and there was a reason to upgrade, many not every year, but if you could afford it, upgrading every other year made sense.
After that, changes were much more calm. Sure, some phone makers made exciting and innovative stuff, but the hardware didn’t have a massive difference from one generation to another, and also prices were rising.
Nowadays, phones are far less exciting, but flagship phones are ludicrously expensive, and yet they sell incredibly well. While phones are being improved from one generation to the next, they feel like small steps rather than a giant leap. Our demand for power hasn’t gone up quite as fast as our phones themselves. People will keep buying phones less frequently, just like we do for laptops.
Same. It’s actually a thing that happens to some actors who got really famous because of a specific blockbuster and other directors don’t want them because it would break the viewer’s immersion. Daisy Ridley spoke about how for some time after her Star Wars role, she didn’t get nearly as many offers as she expected.

The New York Times reported that the plane was scheduled for a maintenance check over ongoing concerns, but Alaska Airlines chose to allow flights to go ahead.
This is an interesting development, but Boeing is going to spin it as if they did nothing wrong when it was clear their airplanes are poorly constructed.
Conclusion: Both Boeing and Alaska Airlines suck, and the lesson is, like many times, greed of corporate executives overrule safety to increase profits.
I’m no lawyer, but both Boeing’s and Alaska Airlines’ executives need to be investigated and potentially charged with reckless endangerment, and considering the number of people who fly on their planes, I’d hope some of them spend many years behind bars.
According to the US Energy Information Agency, there are about 3 million miles (4.828 million kilometers) of natural gas pipes (link), I’d be shocked if the majority of the methane doesn’t come from many small leaks during the transportation process, especially since the article says they have a harder time detecting small leaks with current equipment.
Considering that methane is about 100 times more potent as a greenhouse gas as CO2 although it doesn’t last for as long (link), we should be banning natural gas wherever possible and fast. Some industries still need gas, but the if we combine the 15.3% residential, 11.3% commercial (non-manufacturing), and 44.1% for electricity production, that amounts to 70.7% of natural gas consumption that should be relatively simple to replace with renewable energy sources. For industrial gas consumption, this would be a case by case basis, but I’d wager there will be plenty of industry that could drastically reduce it as well, but I’m not an expert.
Exactly. Gas makes no sense in the home. It’s worse than induction in every way, it’s bad for the air quality in the home as you’ve said, it is dangerous if not properly maintained, risking a deadly leak, it heats the house and everything… And slower than even modest induction stoves. The government could subsidise an induction stove for the people during the phase out process.
As for the commercial stuff, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to replace 99% of the gas with electrical, remember that commercial doesn’t include manufacturing, just services and stuff. It won’t be easy, but well worth it.
For industrial, it will probably be impossible to completely remove it, but as you said, there are great innovations that we could probably reduce that drastically. I didn’t count that in the 70.7% thing in my comment though, that was just residential, power, and commercial since I don’t have any clue how fast and how much of the industrial gas consumption can be replaced in the near future.
