Okay, after being introduced to Notesnook yesterday, I'm sold. I've imported notes from almost all of my other notes apps I've used in the past and even cancelled my SimplyNotes sub in favor of this one.
Youngest child: It's your birthday!
Me: Yes I'm <insert the correct year here> years young
Youngest child: Don't you mean old?
Me: I like to think I'm still young
Youngest child: Until you look in the mirror and see you're lying....
The fact that when you fail with shoving someone in #BaldursGate3 it says "athletics failed" makes me giggle every time. I always think "me too, game, me too"
@patbak@RL_Dane Amen. I'm okay if it maps out the house and stores that info locally. I don't want Amazon (or whatever other tech overlord the vacuum reports to) knowing where my kids toys are on the floor today vs yesterday...
@markusl@Mundon I'll give it a shot. It's a shame to have it just sitting there gathering dust. It's still a beast of a laptop for any normal day to day use.

> can anyone point me in a right direction on how to get the correct drivers installed in Fedora?
I'm guessing that WiFi chips require nonfree firmware to work. Also that Fedora makes installing proprietary software hard, to protect people from doing it inadvertently. When I hit this problem with Trisquel, I change distros (usually to LMDE).
Is there another Fedora family distro you could use, that's more nonchalant about shipping any nonfree components needed to make hardware work?
I was speaking with my parents the other day about how I dream of getting an electric car because I'm a nerd and those things appeal to my tech side (and, you know, the goddamn environment).
My mom's reaction "Well, you can't take those on road trips. What if you want to drive out to Wyoming?"
First of all, yes you can. Secondly, WHY THE FUCK WOULD I DRIVE TO WYOMING?
I've got everything I need to finally build my NAS for my house, starting with a modest 2TB drive. I'll be adding more drives as time goes on, but this is a good start.
And of course, right on cue my Nextcloud Linode had to be restored from backup today...
@TomLarrow I backed a kickstarter a while back that had a case/hat for a raspberry pi for a NAS. So I'm cannibalizing my octoprint pi server to make a R-Pi NAS, most likely running on Open Media Vault.
@Mundon
Oh interesting! Had been contemplating something small for an off-site at my parents. Something like that sounds like it may be worth looking in to
