NegativeInf,

Until the last panel, I didn’t even read that character as Jewish. But rather just a hate filled fascist wrapped in the flag of whatever religion is convenient to their current goal. It looks more like trump than a sewer rat.

NegativeInf,

Based on my frequent exploding and vanishing gradients, that would be a yes.

NegativeInf,

He has something between his ears other than whiskey?

NegativeInf,

Nah, that worm would be pickled in Rudi.

NegativeInf,

Did I have a stroke or did you?

NegativeInf,

Ahh. Gotcha. Your joke was too good. I am not worthy. Lol.

NegativeInf,

So is it the cops lying or Adams or both?

New York Mayor Eric Adams and senior police officials repeatedly said there were “no injuries,” no “violent clashes” and minimal force used. But at least nine of the 46 protesters arrested inside the barricaded Hamilton Hall on April 30 sustained injuries beyond minor scrapes and bruises, according to medical records, photographs shared by protesters, and interviews. The documented injuries included a fractured eye socket, concussions, an ankle sprain, cuts, and injured wrists and hands from tight plastic flexicuffs

NegativeInf,

Lol. Both your posts show next to each other in my feed. Good shit bro.

NegativeInf,

I searched images of this dude to make sure I wasn’t crazy or missing something about his hair (fade). Then it clicked, you meant face. I need a coffee.

NegativeInf, (edited )

Meant as in “meant to type” not “meant as in meaning”. Like he had a typo. I was confused because there’s no pic of him in the article and every image online shows him with long ass hair.

NegativeInf,

Socialists Penny Wrout, Fliss Premru and Claudia Turbet-Delof held a press conference outside the east London borough’s town hall.

Ms Wrout said they were leaving the party due to “the inadequacies about Labour’s national policies to address problems we have got at the moment but it’s also, crucially, about Labour’s lily-livered stand from the beginning on Gaza.”

She said Hackney Council needs “to act now” to sell its shares in an Israeli arms company “before the Tory government makes it illegal for them to do that.”

NegativeInf,

On mobile I get like 8 inline billboard ads for BestBuy that are larger than the paragraph. One for each article link between the paragraphs. One video that plays at the bottom and scrolls with you, and one video ad at the top that just plays.

How do ads even make money today? I don’t think I’ve ever even clicked one on purpose. Is it just impressions? I feel like companies are just handing money to Google and Facebook without much benefit? Or am I missing something?

NegativeInf,

I mean, when there’s no commandment against rape and the one for murder doesn’t count when their god says it’s totes ok bro, take their land and dash their babies against the rocks, they have no moral ground to stand on.

Religion is the language of the oppressors couched in fantasy to make you do their dirty work in the here and now for a payoff that certainly doesn’t exist.

Sticky trick: new glue spray kills plant pests without chemicals (www.theguardian.com)

The insect glue, produced from edible oils, was inspired by plants such as sundews that use the strategy to capture their prey. A key advantage of physical pesticides over toxic pesticides is that pests are highly unlikely to evolve resistance, as this would require them to develop much larger and stronger bodies, while bigger...

NegativeInf,

While I agree in principle, the people who write the headlines are very often not the writers of the article or the people who are actually working on the solutions to the problems.

NegativeInf,

You don’t think they could, you know, wash them before selling them?

NegativeInf,

Water+a surfactant. It’s oxidized oil emulsified in soap and water already.

NegativeInf,

Now that’s a valid argument. I appreciate that!

NegativeInf,

“During 2012–2021, a total of 260,435 pediatric melatonin ingestions were reported to poison control centers, representing 2.25% of all pediatric ingestions reported during the same period. The majority of ingestions were unintentional (94.3%), involved males aged ≤5 years, occurred in the home (99.0%), and were managed on-site (88.3%) (Table). Most children start (84.4%) were asymptomatic. Among those with reported symptoms, most involved the gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, or central nervous systems. Among 27,795 patients who received care at a health care facility, 19,892 (71.6%) were discharged, 4,097 (14.7%) were hospitalized, and 287 (1.0%) required intensive care. Among all melatonin ingestions, 4,555 (1.6%) resulted in more serious outcomes. Five children required mechanical ventilation, and two died. Both deaths occurred in children aged <2 years (3 months and 13 months) and occurred in the home. One ingestion involved intentional medication misuse; the reason for the other is unknown.”

From the paper they link? But IDK where that 7% came from? 2.25% of pediatric ingestions.

NegativeInf, (edited )

You mean the literal paper that the guardian links to in their article?

www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/mm7122a1.htm

NegativeInf,

Interesting. I wonder which is more appropriate, the ten year or more recent two year study.

Additionally, I wonder if there’s any pandemic accounting for the number of parents dosing their kids from having to be at home all day with them.

Thanks for the additional context.

NegativeInf,

I’m pretty sure my mother, who is staunchly against abortion, is only against it because my grandmother offered to pay to abort me and my mother refused the offer and regrets it. She was 18 and her aunt then refused to pay for her college because she got knocked up. But you get what you get, and she got a gay son. 🤷🏻‍♂️

NegativeInf,

Was driving in a Houston suburb and had one overtake me on the right. Just gave it a super wide berth. I know my 24 year old Civic would shred like paper if that thing hit me.

NegativeInf,

Even in the absence of matter, there’s still the quantum foam. The most perfect vacuum is teeming with this energy. To truly understand the nature of ‘nothing,’ one would need to venture beyond spacetime itself—and even then, it’s not guaranteed that ‘nothing’ would be found. Physics suggests that anything existing outside of or predating spacetime would generally have no impact on us; it doesn’t necessarily explain what the ‘outside’ might be like.

I’d say nothing is less a definition but rather an informal shorthand for how we percieve at macro scale with our wrinkly 4D brains.
