Well.
I need to talk to my cardiologist.
Soon.
Six months ago it was determined that my left atrium was moderately enlarged.
Now it’s severely enlarged.
At the least, open heart surgery for a valve replacement.
More realistically, a heart transplant.

A crap load of arrangements to make.

I felt very bad because I couldn’t *make myself go to the nursing home yesterday.

I’m exhausted, still. Yet. Again.
Energy limiting Chronic illnesses are a REAL bitch.
I had appointments every day last week, plus going to see Al.
This week only one.
Next week, five days, five appointments.
These are all medically necessary or I wouldn’t be stretching myself past the limit.
My guilt caused me to arrange delivery from a great restaurant in Bellefonte. $75 worth of guilt.
He will love it.

There was a political discussion taking place on the bus yesterday.

Youngish guy spewing right wing talking points.
I introduced nuance to the conversation.
Then end of the conversation came with him yelling at me, “Don’t you watch any news?!?”

Upon my exit he said he was sorry if he hurt my feelings.

“What infuriated me was the “don’t you watch the news” question. No, I don’t. I don’t watch television. What I do is read many more publications in a day than you could possibly imagine.”

My kitty Amelia has been keeping me company as she has every morning for over 17 years. My body is just a warm, comfortable bed for hers.

The Atlantic went to $79/yr. I asked for any consideration possible and they dropped it to $49.99/digital.
The New Yorker is a firm $99/yr digital.

I understand Capitalism.

I’ve read and happily subscribed to these publications for years. Years.

Now it’s a choice between feeding my brain and life.

I despise those options.

Holy chicken.

Very thinly gold plated, I am imagining.

I was perusing a local farm to table site and came across “spent” laying hens for sale. Average 4 lb package.
Eight dollars and ninety two cents a pound.
“Spent” laying hens were called “stewing chicken” at home and seriously, they should have only been used for stock.
I disliked chicken and biscuits for years because I’d only had it made with stewing hens.

Grandpa would be laughing all of the way to the bank.

When I drove up my driveway yesterday I thought oh, lord, there’s a rattle snake and almost didn’t get out to look. But I did, and it was a pacific gopher snake. 🥰🥰. The medallion on its head is a defining feature. We also have bull snakes, another kind of gopher snake with big jaws, that strikes like a rattler. One scared me in the chicken house a few years ago.

Rough textured tan snake with brown and black spots. No rattle. Medallion on its head led me to identify as a pacific gopher snake.

They went to a local farm store and saw they had one gallon of raw milk left so they brought it to me as a present.

I couldn’t WAIT to drink a glass.

My daughter said it was too “creamy” for her.

I said, “but I shook it really well!”

No, that wasn’t it.

She’s just used to store bought milk.

I failed my babies because I was a vegetable grower instead of a dairy farmer!

My POOR KIDS!

I’m not sure how it started but the end result was my SIL yelling in the hallway, “I don’t CARE if you sell percs but do have to be so LOUD about it?”
This was after the new neighbor found out he worked from home so he proceeded to play loud music all day and entertain “guests” 24/7.
Neighbor proceeded to whip liquor bottle at SILs head. SIL shut the door and avoided the bottle.

He then went downstairs and called the police. The neighbor then attempted to evade police.

Oh!

We’ve had a lot of rain here recently.
A lot.
To the point my hobbit like apartment has had humidity levels of between 65-85%.
My uncarpeted floors are damp and sticky when I walk across them.
Thank goodness I’m a good tenant.
The complex only has one dehumidifier for maintenance to use after leaks in apartments.
It’s currently running in mine.
The rain gifted me yesterday, though.
I don’t have RAW files so my son can’t make them look great but one photo from yesterday:

Good morning!

Rather chilly this morning into this evening, which means it’s nearly normal/average.

I finally got my return sent to Amazon. I wish I’d known I could schedule a UPS pick up for a fee.

It’s on its way now! ☺️

I need to check the planters outside. See if they need watering.
