I need to tell someone that when you ask CoPilot on Windows 11 how to do something that's been disabled from Windows 10 (namely, moving the taskbar), it suggests you edit the registry. Bold suggestion.

FWIW, this doesn't work for me anyway.

It is one of the greatest dreams of parenthood:
That your child should live such a long and happy life and grow in wonderful ways that one day, your child can look back on their adolescence and be more embarrassed by their actions/attire/persona upon reflection than you were in the moment.

I know my parents have realized that dream for me. And now, I have that same dream for my kids.

So so so proud of my wife @elishevaem, who has sold her first novel, OLIVE DAYS, written while working full-time and raising 3 kids. It's a beautiful story (yes, I've already read it multiple times) about love, faith, identity, and Los Angeles. Can't wait for everyone else to read it, too!

There's a lot of talk if entities (e.g., NPR or Mozilla) hosting their own Mastodon servers as a way to verify and protect their content.

But I haven't seen any discussion about what they means for employees who post on those accounts and then leave that org. Are they going to have difficulty asserting copyright to their posts hosted on their employers' servers? Will they be restricted in their ability to move servers, before or after they leave the organization? Will their employers' access to their DMs prove problematic?

Right now, the discussion is about orgs that we largely trust or like. But if #ActivityPub is to be the new norm, we need to have this discussion in preparation for corporations that aren't to be trusted.

One thing is immediately clear, anyone using an employer-hosted account will need to keep their personal account separate, just like we do with our email accounts now. But that raises the authentication issue again...
