Right, but sync isn’t even free in that regard. It serves you ads, tracks you, and is closed source. I’d happily financially contribute to it if it were actually FOSS
What’s wild, is the stuff we really need (food and water) are self sustainable. Our resources or limited, but replenishing. Of course we instead base out society off one of the few nonrenewable resources (fossil fuels).

I use Feedbin. It can be self hosted or paid for at $5 month. It runs embeds for sites that aren’t RSS friendly. For YouTube, I prefer to run unlock origin and sponsorblock as Firefox extensions.
