OK, @pluralistic 's The Bezzle finally bubbled up to the top of my to-read stack, and hot damn! Such a great read, in turns hilarious and infuriating and heart breaking.

And I had a thought about why I find his writing so compelling - he's something of a 21st century Dickens; his daily threads show you the pieces of the puzzle, much as Dickens' serializations of his work doled out a story in bite-sized chunks. Then, you sit down and read the whole, and it you see the whole, and... damn.

Just had the wildest dream while taking an Xmas-eve afternoon nap

there was a pop-up vinyl booth at the local Xmas village, so I was digging through the crates looking for last-minute gifts (as one does), and found a double album of Xmas standards, by Prince

bought it & ran home, put it on, it was brilliant, but also Prince, and therefore, filthy

couldn't really give that to anyone in my fam, so it was a present to me

So, just out of idle curiosity - folks know that if you want to find out what the deal is with a person #OnHere a thing you can do is click on their user name, right? That takes you right to their profile! And any posts that they have pinned! And their most recent posts, right underneath!

I've found that it's a good way to avoid telling people stuff that they've already written several books about!
