RxBrad,

Made this guy back in 2015... Have made a couple changes here & there. I've had the itch to sell it and make a new one from scratch, taking into account things I've learned & wanted to change...

Arcade machine

5a network doesn't come back

When I go to my basement, my Google Fi Network says no service. I understand this part. When I leave my house though, the network doesn't come back automatically. I have to turn on/off airplane mode or restart my phone to get the network connected again. I tried resetting my wifi, mobile and Bluetooth, but that didn't fix it. I...

RxBrad,

I'm dealing with this right now with Mint Mobile on a Pixel 6a (eSIM.. not dual-SIM).

I really think Google broke something with the June Update.

RxBrad,

If you're like me & used Twitter as an RSS replacement after Google killed Reader, it didn't fail at all.

Following hashtags on Mastodon is actually better than Twitter ever was for me.

RxBrad,

I was going to say that Liftoff sure looks a lot like the Lemmynade app I tried a couple days ago.

Turns out that it is Lemmynade. It just got renamed.

Elon is a free speech absolutist.

Unless you're a critic of Tesla. Then you're banned.

@fediverse

RxBrad,

Ugh... Are we finding creative ways to turn everything here into a political-shit-slinging billionaire-hateboner-fest, too?

Yes, Elon is a shitheel. But this doesn't actually have anything to do with the Fediverse.

RxBrad,

Gave it a look. It's quite nice for browsing Lemmy (I did have to exit and reopen the app to get to my subscribed channel feed after signing in).

Composing posts & comments looks to be missing most of its functionality, though. No text formatting. No image uploads. Just a text box.

EDIT: Weird. My profile shows my comment history from my old deleted lemmy.ml account, even though I'm signed in to lemmy.world. (I switched instances because the web filters at work block *.ml)

RxBrad,

Is just exposing it via a Cloudflare Zero Trust tunnel enough for security?

(Serious question that I don't know the answer to, as this is what I'm currently considering for a project.)

RxBrad,

Welp, I did it. One nice thing is that Cloudflare has an official WordPress plugin that applies recommended security settings.

I will note that WordPress does not take kindly to being setup on http localhost, then put into a Cloudflare Tunnel. It goes into a redirect hell that I wasn't able to figure out. You basically need to setup the tunnel, then run the WordPress install script from scratch.

Exporting from http localhost to your URL on Cloudflare is also not fun. The import process fails at pulling in your photos. Luckily, my blog was mostly empty, so manually re-adding the media to the posts didn't kill me.

RxBrad,

I actually just had to bail on lemmy.ml and come over to lemmy.world.

Turns out the zScaler web filters they use at work have a blanket filter on the entire .ml TLD... Can't be having that now...

RxBrad,

I'll never clear it. Ever.

I do use Grouvee.com to keep track of it, and where I own all of my games. Otherwise, I'd end up accidentally buying 5 copies of the same game on five different storefronts.
