Really pleased to see this post outlining how @devs helps deliver more of the fediverse than any other platform. And the majority of that is done for free, as part of our Fast Forward program for supporting open source and the open web. This might be the first time in a couple of decades that I’ve gone into a Final Fantasy game completely unspoiled. I never read any news articles. I haven’t seen any reviews. I haven’t even watched a trailer.

After years of either covering gaming directly, or having it in my peripheral vision because of PC or tech writing, this is a super refreshing feeling!!

(Also, the first physical game I’ve purchased in forever, and definitely not the last)

Dear @k9mail / @thunderbird team,

I configured K-9 to my inbox containing a few hundred folders that shall be downloaded regularly.

I observe that the crawling through the folders stops as soon as the app is closed.

Is this by design?

I was expecting to have it continuing to do so in the background.

I understand if this is a limitation on Android (13, Fairphone 3).

Substack advice needed.

I got a request from my inlaw about my thoughts on substack. I've heard all sorts and generally respect @molly0xfff's option on villainy. So the question is, what should i recommend?

The brief is: wants to sell pdf versions of sheet music and other similar creative works, wants to promote and link to podcasts. So doesn't look like a blog to me. Any good platforms for that sort of thing?

Getting lost with sophistication. A step-by-step journey.

1. I need some kind of dashboard in my #Obsidian app to help me find common things more quickly.

2. Ideally I want to build it in HTML/CSS. Canvas supports embedding websites! I quickly build a simple layout with some buttons and save it as .html

3. While embedding websites is easy, embedding .html files is not supported in the same way.

After poking around more, I thiiiink we can do something here using Mastodon's built-in APIs pretty trivially. Not quite the same thing as an unopinionated ActivityPub bridge, but as Andy said RSS works as an interface for that for folks who want to get technical (whereas I think most folks just want to be able to auto-publish toots for their new issues!)
