Collective Code Construction Contract ()

Das finde ich gar nicht schlecht.
Habt ihr Irgendwelche Kommentare dazu? Egal ob positiv oder negativ, ich wäre an eurer Kritik interessiert.

Es geht darum bei Softwareentwicklung soziale Beziehungen der Entwickler:innen mehr in den Vordergrund zu rücken. Also Freie Software als Ausdruck einer Sozialen Praxis, so meine Lesart.

Bin über @smallcircles darauf aufmerksam geworden. Er hat ganz viel Gedanken dazu.

I can imagine that the current version might as well be the last one usable without a subscription.

I wasn't able to convince the person to use LibreOffice (or let me write code for anything more complex).

Yet Excel appears to be an IDE these days.

Gitea is using GitHub's merge queue for its development at the moment.
They consider it useful.

I assume, it's not on the top of the priorities right now.

Unlikely.
We won't have enough people to run that.

I expect copyleft code to be integrated into Forgêjo this year. Likely the federation capabilities.

As much as it concerns me, the technical side is strong in the project.
But the governance is lacking.

This could very much lead to a „Tech Bro“ culture. May or may not be okay.

What bugs me is that the lived culture doesn't match the proclaimed one.
That's plain dishonest.
Therefore I speak up.

I don't post much but i lurk a lot.

I felt like posting now as i'm finaly out of that soul crushing job trap i've been in recently. I was in doubt until the last moment with the possibility of my boss trying to screw me over pay. He didn't, i got lucky. It was a close call.

Anyway, i got two career path choice now. Reconverting as a web dev or trying to graduate from being a two decades long beginner harp player, getting past Oh Suzanna level and hitting hit big.

so someone told me about the foot pedal. good idea, except I heard StreamDeck are not known for their accessibility when it comes to setting this up. if there are any users who had to set one of these up how usable is the software with ? boosts are welcome btw.

I've got something to share with you in the Americas 😇

I handed in my last year with my current employer. The implication being, that I can take on other challenges as of January 2023.

I tried to find a for a year now to no avail (reasons in 🧵). Now I'm entering freelancing market.

Today I managed to install and configure

  • my contacts (vdirsyncer + khard, formerly khal)
  • my calendar (calcurse + calcurse-caldav. Might switch to vdirsyncer)
  • my mail (offlineimap + neomutt)
  • my todo txt (todo.sh)

Not happy with saving credentials in plain text :-(

But I can look into Lua (conky and awesome WM widgets) next!
