Well so far I've lost track of the number of times I've restarted knitting the scarf. Either I'm not doing my tension right or the needles I have aren't right (they become too tight at times or give way suddenly messing up my stitch). Well I'll pick it back up later. Almost tempted to try it with my round needles instead and see if that's better.

Just saw @JeriLRyan share a Threads link. As Threads is a concern for many of us because of Meta's data harvesting, what would be the best response? I mean if Celeb accounts start sharing that here should we say something or just block outright?

With the capitalist enshitification of living its important to think of ways to claw back our sovereignty not just as individuals but communities. Corporations dictate everything from housing, goods and services to work (hiring/allotment of working hours). Why? Because they own the capital thanks largely to Intellectual Property. We should be developing open standards that democratize the system away from the psychopaths.

My first finished piece. Garter knit scarf. Was suppose to be 3ft long came out to be more like 2 1/2 ft 😅, maybe it'll stretch a bit if I hang it up. Going to try a second scarf in a different color next.

If what I just heard about how much the rent is for the unit next to me is true I have the suspicion our rent is about to go up yet again. And to keep up it will have effectively trippled in the 3 years we've lived here. Keep in mind we live in a heavily rural area and still rent is going nuts because landlords are greedy shits.

Just saw someone on DW stating the Biden campaign is eager to get Taylor Swift's endorsement. While I seriously doubt she would because of brand damage she would be doing. I know she has a pretty good grasp of business which is why her political statements are measured. Swift knows Biden is tanking with young voters which includes many of her fans, endorsing him would be seen as a betrayal.

I know I know but liberals want it so bad.😮‍💨

I used Red Heart Super Saver Ombre Medium 4 in jazzy/fiusha.

With the recent Suspension of Modoweiss on Mastodon.social can be now found here @mondoweiss the question of media censorship needs to be brought up. While each Mastodon instance sets its on rules media accounts reporting on current events may cross the line of that instances political views and censor them. The question is how to prevent this and whether to start calling out those instance admins when they do? The news can be in general uncomfortable but it is necessary.

@Tutanota I'm trying to track down an issue. A site I use requires an email verification code sent however my email isn't showing anything even in spam. Not sure if it's the site I'm trying to log into (which said it was having connectivity issues) or if something is going with my email.

Watching Transport Evolved @show vids on the Vectrix VX-1 has gotten me thinking are there any motorcycles (naked sport or otherwise) that came out with decent performance and repairable? Zero makes great bikes but don't seem to friendly toward user repairs. Vaguely remember Brammo but can't think of any other.

Looked around and found a VX-1 in my state but they want $7k :0170: and no mention of a battery swap.

Just got some knitting supplies and want to get started. Picked up a couple of books from a book sale now what would be a good first project? I've never knitted before and am thinking a scarf. Still need to pick up the yarn though. 😅

Just caught up on the Linus Tech Tips (LTT) drama. A couple of things not discussed though such as the case Billet Labs review were about manufacturers prototype hardware not being returned, worse being auctioned. But added on top of this the "reviewer" having significant ties to larger corporations. The risk of intellectual property theft is very real as is a revenue hit from a poor review by LTT who has millions of subscribers. Why isn't there a class action lawsuit yet?

@protonprivacy would it be too much to ask that when updating your apps, particularly email that if it logs the user out to give us some sort of notification. My email has been signed out now for weeks, and just noticed last night, an email I use in my job search.
