The American healthcare system is a business. It's not concerned with healthcare. As a result, millions of people are either denied care or going broke to pay for it. For many, the ability to go to a doctor is a luxury.

Far be it for me to give advice to people in other countries, but I'll do it this one time as a warning. If you're in a country that is considering our style of healthcare, take my advice - fight it with everything you have. Don't let it happen. Trust me, you do not want this.

Amen and well said! Our healthcare system serves the privileged. Additionally, it traps many people into jobs they hate, just so they can obtain healthcare. Quality of life is not a consideration under the system.

Well, it's been a day for these two. Again. E21 locked talons with an adult that was chasing M15 to the nest. By doing this, she gave M15 time to actually get to the nest. Then, when the adult tried to land on the nest with E22 and M15, E22 pushed the adult off the nest.
These two are WAY past where they should be at three months of age. It's just incredible.

I"m spread a little thin. Side hustles turning into my own business. So many clients that I have a waiting list (No complaints there). Training for a marathon and also running with dogs while I train, so more clients there. Dad's stuff and his insurance issues. Mom's stuff and her insurance issues. Legal issues for both. Yoga certification.

I think I need to stand pat with the schedule.

Not sure which it's rougher on, the person rounding the bend to the final stage of their life or the family around them dealing with the money, stress, and pain of it all.

Well I had some plans to make some hoagie bread but I'm not sure if my energy is at 100% this morning? I might wait until tomorrow.

The GF is home remote working today which is nice. She pretty much keeps to herself when working, but it's nice to have her energy around. She's my favorite person.

Here she is (her gender is just a guess, given her size). There was a time when we all thought the prospects for the eaglets were grim. We never imagined M15 would raise two beautiful, strong, and capable eaglets all by himself, but he did. This is a video from the Real Saunders Photography of E21 in all her juvenile glory. Still, baby eaglets at heart. Although, eaglets of their age don't usually spend so much time in the nest. Then again, I've learned to throw out 'normal' when it comes to these two.

As I approach this mid-life possible change in careers, I realize I have a much bigger problem. I'm enrolling in a continuing ed course, and I can't find all the bikes in the damn picture to prove I'm not a freakin' robot. It's easier just to admit that I AM a robot.

Fine! I"m a robot! If you prick me, do I not...short circuit? If you tickle me, do I not...manically fake-smile? If you poison me, do I not...shut down? And if you wrong me, shall I not...assimilate you?

Well, I am at that point...

I have been working my former 'side hustles' - dog training, meditation training, dog running- while looking for HR work. The HR Dept at my former company was dissolved a year ago, and they outsourced HR to a remote company.

A year later, I've found that even though I'm not even close to old, ageism is a thing. I'm having a hard time landing a job close to what I used to have. In the meantime, my side hustles have grown, and I could possibly build a business 1/2

I think you're already in business, and as an observer at how well it has grown, I think you'll be increasingly successful.

I've never worked for myself, so I don't know the ins and outs of health benefits, but that you can find out. There have to be small business resources in your area that can help.

It's my belief that action is always better than inaction, so move ahead with what you WANT to focus on.

I feel “stay in bed all day” sick.

I feel tired and lethargic, my throat is dry, no matter how much water I seem to drink, my eyes are dry, I have mucus, and I feel a pressure in my forehead.

I constantly run into this (no pun intended) when I'm running with dogs. It happened when I used to do it, and it's happening now. I run with the dog attached to my waist harness. They're tethered to a belt on my waist.

I constantly have people trying to stop me to ask how I run with dogs this way, where I get the harness, etc.

The run for me is marathon training. The run for the dog is exercise. I can't be stopping every five minutes. But I don't want to be rude. Suggestions?

SWFL Eagle Cam

M15's wing was ensnared in a fishing line yesterday. He brought a fish with a line and hook in it. Fortunately, the line fell off of his wing as he flew, and he was able to remove the hook before eating the fish. Administrators checked on him, and the eaglets and all are fine, thankfully. Ended up running with just one dog this morning. I told the owners to have their vet OK running with me; the other dog hasn't yet.

This morning's dog took to my waist harness right away. We got into a zone and pace. He ran beside me, and it was great - until I stopped to sip some water. This dog looked at me and barked until I started running again! I have a canine coach!!😂

Ughhhh. This was bound to happen.

Some of my dog training clients have hired me to bring their dogs with me while I run and train for the marathon. Seems I have double-booked two labrador retrievers for tomorrow's run. Hmmm...

Can I run with two dogs? They know each other. They live down the street from each other and get along just fine. I usually only have one attached to my waist harness. Can I do two?

Yesterday we got word that a member of our family had a stroke. It appears they are stable + have a good chance of recovering much of what was affected. It was a day of sharing information, notifying family + checking in with each other.

It is taking me time to fully process this. It came completely out of the blue. The immediate crisis is over right now, but we need to come to terms with a new reality. Life + a sense of well-being feel fragile right now.

Be kind to each other.
