Back in 2006, when we were mere Skeenagers, our love for all things kitsch & library was duly noted by Standard Music Library, a UK stalwart of mood music, and we were commissioned to produce an album of joyous guilty pleasures; their 3rd instalment of the "Kitsch in Sync" series...

Us? With our reputation? 🤣 Naturally we jumped at the chance. We had such a blast, we went on to produce a further 9 albums for Standard, absolutely thrilled at every step, to be following in the footsteps of legends such as Brian Eno & Delia Derbyshire. (Not bad for label mates eh?)

@popey I do remember the preset patterns to be excellent.. and a great introduction to rhythm sequencing in general.. It was definitely the era... We would go into Dixon's after school to play with the sampling casios and drum pad syntns...🤣

Happy Birthday to Clyde Stubblefield, the OG Funky drummer. 🥰 We had the honour of recording the great man for an album we produced with Alison Limerick, back in the late 90s. None of the tracks were ever used, but it was an absolute riot recording our hero!

Loving this album by @Skeewiff So much fun! A fresh take on goofy tracks from (mostly) the 1960's, re-imagined with a contemporary sound and a deadpan delivery.

A wonderfully deconstructed "Soul Bossanova", a "Spanish Flea" that (almost) never ends, probably the best (to date) version of "MahNa MahNa", all rounded out by UK parlamentary political anthem #1 "Yakety Sax".

This album shows a true love for the originals, played in the most skilled and respectful way.
