Unfortunately, they still have your comments saved in a database somewhere for LLMs to work on.

Hmm…I bet they use the text from edits as training data too. Maybe you could poison the results by hooking a edit bot to a random text generator?

Organic agriculture allows numerous pesticides, pyrethrin, spinosad, copper sulphate, neem oil as a gaggle of biological agents that can kill non-target insects. But, credit where credit is due at least the USDA banned spraying antibiotics (Streptomycin) on pears and the insecticide that’s massively toxic to fish and is also (tentitively) linked to parkinson’s disease in humans (Rotenone) in… 2018 I think.

Oh, and also giant fucking flamethrower trailers are Organic too. Rad as fuck, but I don’t know about the emissions.

women trying to become pregnant should be aware of neem oil, which is an organic pesticide that can cause miscarriages.

And yet for some insane reason they put it in fucking toothpaste.

Is organic pesticide residue safer for humans than conventional pesticide residue?

As with most questions found outside the classroom the answer is “It’s complicated”.

If you just start comparing random conventional pesticides to Organic pesticides it’s pretty easy find conventional pesticides that are less toxic than Organic. The Organic fungicide Copper Sulfate has a oral LD50 of 790 mg/kg in rats, meanwhile the demonized glyphosate has a rat oral LD50 of 7200 mg/kg. Pyrethrins are another good example, the synthetic non-Organic pyrethroids are (as a rule of thumb) usually more toxic to insects while being less toxic to humans.

Application frequencies are another complication. Spinosad is a Organic insecticide that when spayed on foliage is absorbed into plant tissues making them poisonous to insects, very similar to the non-Organic neonicotinoid imidacloprid. When you compare their toxicity spinosad is safer hands down (Rat oral LD50 3750 mg/kg vs imidacloprid’s 450 mg/kg), however spinosad is broken down much more quickly by plants after spraying, meaning if you want the same window of protection you have to spray spinosad multiple times, which means multiple chances for pesticide drift or human exposure.

However my biggest concerns about Organic pesticides is how they’re all treated like they’re safe. You’ll have a pyrethrin spray with “Use up until the day of harvest!” on the label… so just ignore that babies can’t break them down, I’m sure it’ll be alright. Neem is even more insane because it’s used as a Indian folk remedy, so a pesticide that is linked to organ damage and miscarriage is just… treated as safe.

Oof.

As I understand it the problem is upholding the conviction. I mean… it’s hard to argue that a intellectually challenged individual who represented themselves based on legal advice from a conman had adequate legal representation.

Okay I know what to do from here.

First, reverse pickpocket poison apples into all of the guards inventories, then hang out in their barracks until they all eat poisoned apples, once the guards all die steal their stuff and sell it to the town merchants. Now not only are you richer, but the town’s guards can’t arrest you on account of being dead.

The best part is that when the guards eventually respawn they keep the poisoned status and will quickly die again, with a new loadout of guard equipment!

Marjorie Taylor Greene claims ‘bullshit’ as expert says Covid vaccine saved 14m lives (www.theguardian.com)

Responding to an expert’s statement that “about 3.2 million” American lives have been saved by vaccines against Covid, with “over 14 million lives” saved globally, the far-right Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene said: “I’m not a doctor, but I have a PhD in recognising bullshit when I hear it.”...

Eh, I’m gonna disagree. There were plenty of YA novels at about that time that were popular enough to get movies, were liked by girls and were written by women. The Hunger games, Divergent, heck even Harry Potter caught hardly any flak (well with the exception being when J.K. Rowling decided to take a hard right down Terf street).

IMO the reason why Twilight and Stephenie get so much hate is A) Stephenie isn’t a very good writer, and B) the central theme of the books is how important it is to have a boyfriend/be horny for a guy who wants to kill and eat you. This the bedrock of the Twilight hate, it’s a bland book with a bland plot which was only successful because tapped into a vein of teenage horny. Like… imagine if the central theme of Harry Potter was how attractive Harry found Voldemort and how much he wanted to bang him and teenagers were going wild for how romantic and inspiring their relationship was. I have a feeling this alternate version of Harry Potter would catch a lot more hate too.

I fail to see why I would want to in the first place.

If you marry the right person you get an extra shop to sell to, occasional free septims and a food item that makes stamina, magica, and health regen 25% faster once a day. Oh, and they constantly get in your way in whatever home you store them in.

So from what I’ve gathered from the internet it’s apparently considered weird, but Doritos (usually spicy nacho or salsa verde) dipped in cottage cheese. When I’m depressed I’ll scarf down half a bag of chips (and about a third of a tub of cottage cheese).

I think he was trying to get out of Twitter and wanted to do a real life version of his Dogecoin pump and dumps. You know, talk a big game, hype up how the stock is gonna go to the moon after he brings his genius to bare on the company, then dump the stock and pull out of the deal. However, during the hype phase he managed to say some legally binding things and suddenly found himself forced to honor what he thought was going to be empty hype.

Glow way! Bioluminescent houseplant hits US market for first time (www.nature.com)

Consumers in the United States can now pre-order a genetically engineered plant for their home or garden that glows continuously. At a base cost of US$29.00, residents of the 48 contiguous states can get a petunia (Petunia hybrida) with flowers that look white during the day; but, in the dark, the plant glows a faint green....

I wonder if they programmed a kill switch in so you can’t do vegetative propogation or sterilized it so you can’t produce seeds.

Probably not, stopping vegetative propagation would require mucking around with root genes so it’d be a huge mess to keep the roots working correctly. As for sexual reproduction, despite all the fearmongering about “the terminator gene” there’s never been a commercially available plant genetically engineered sterile. In fact the technology never made it out of the early testing/seeing if it actually worked phase.

They could however make the plant sterile through non-genetic engineering methods, like breeding a triploid. But that’d be kinda pointless since you could still just make cuttings.

Those brickets are wood (and hopefully just wood?)

A lot of briquettes have coal in them, as well as occasionally stuff like sodium nitrate or wax for faster burning.

Vandals are cutting cords at EV charging stations in Minneapolis, St. Paul (m.startribune.com)

Minneapolis and St. Paul together are building out a public EV Hotspot charging network that, when complete, will include about 70 hubs between the two cities where drivers can recharge their batteries. The hubs are outfitted with Level 2 chargers, offering faster charging times than a standard plug-in at home. As they’ve come...

That ad is one of the dumbest attempts at damage control I think I’ve ever seen.

He spends more time on a soap box ranting about COVID-19 and masks then actually addressing what he’s actually in hot water about. It’s literally just “The student violated dress code standards and I’m totally not a racist, BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT MAKING WEAR MASKS OVER THE COVID HOAX!!!”

Even more relevant there was that episode where a transporter accident turns Picard, Guinan, Ro and Kiko into twelve year olds and nobody points out they just discovered transporter induced immortality.

What really gets me about that episode is all of the effected characters immediately want to return to their normal age and nobody says “Hold up, I’m very okay with a couple extra decades of life” or centuries in Guinans case I suppose.

    Sludgehammer,
    @Sludgehammer@lemmy.world avatar

Really, the transporters work by power of plot.

Most devices in sci-fi settings do.
