I appreciate you trying to stimulate engagement and growth in this Lemmy community, but copying Reddit posts as you have been doesn’t seem like the way to me. If you see an especially cool MOC or whatnot from Reddit, sure bring it over, but please remember to credit the OP. And with a discussion or a detail such as this one, please make sure the premise of the discussion or detail is factually correct; this set alone has already been on shelves for 7 months, and the brown swirl piece has been around since 2019. https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/92f87ea1-1c5e-49e9-af07-3f9f78727d58.jpeg

I think Lemmy communities have to be non-reliant on their Reddit counterparts in order to flourish.

I have posted some of my own MOCs and misc. as I complete them, and I have a large MOC in the works presently, but it is a slow process on my end because of work and life. I don’t want to make Lemmy posts of my OC that I had already posted on Reddit since it seems like we’re still in the Reddit refugee stage so anyone who would see it here would have already had the opportunity to see it on Reddit. I’m also not saying everything posted has to be OC, but it shouldn’t become a one-source recycling grounds with little QA.

What hard and fast rules described in my comment do you take issue with?

On the contrary, that should convince them that Lemmy has as much content as Reddit!

I don’t think the math checks out on that.

While quantity of content is essential for a community like this, many Reddit refugees, myself included, turned to Lemmy due to Reddit’s changes which empower repost bots that regurgitate content in high quantities but the quality of the content is diminished by it being reposted content that the audience has probably already (even more so diminished if it is uncredited).

Your Lemmy posts with an i.redd.it link or a preview.redd.it link don’t directly link to a page that identifies the OP. While there is a button on the page that should connect to the original post, this button instead takes users to the App Store (or equivalent) to install the Reddit app, even if the Reddit app is already on the device. I’m also just now seeing that the Memmy app for Lemmy does not show when a post is hosted via an i.redd.it link and it instead presents the post content as if it were hosted native to Lemmy, so that is an oversight on my behalf and I see now that I had mistaken some of your posts as being uncredited copies.

Other users are apparently under the impression that content is OC if it is presented this way without a direct identification of the source. This commenter thought you had made the content in the post, and you could have clarified in a reply and said that somebody else made it. Alternatively, being as clear as possible in the title of a post about who made what is the most direct way to avoid that confusion.

“News” is the wrong word. “Dogma” is a better choice.

The track listing is written out of order on this compilation of a band's entire discography (lemmy.world)

The CD’s digital files are mislabeled in the same way and also have strange typos with the composers’ names, such as Mike Harrison’s name being written “Harrisøn” and Jimmy Henshaw’s name being written “HEN$HAW”. It’s disappointing that this obscure and overlooked group will likely have their last release of...

You can’t refer to a hooded figure in a castle as “The Monster in the Iron Mask” and not have him be DR. DOOM, Marvel!

The titles on these past two episodes have been a bit misleading. Kahhori didn’t really reshape the world per se within the episode; she only prevented the New World from being conquered and only got as far as entering Spain before the episode ended. And this episode’s title suggests that Hela discovers the Ten Rings before Wenwu would, rather than simply encountering them early on in his possession.

Hela & Wenwu vs. Odin was among the best fight scenes in the MCU as a whole imo.

I wonder if Strange Supreme will recruit Hela the White like he did with Kahhori in search of mega-enhanced “light side” characters to defeat the Scarlet Witch seen at the end of the Captain Carter episode; I’d guess Celestial Star-Lord would fit that category too, and then maybe Nova Nebula and Hulk Hogan for support.

I sure hope questions of fact don’t get overturned on appeal as you say they rarely do, since that excerpt is from the Finding of Fact section of the court ruling.
