This was my first foray into stone carving. It evolved spontaneously as I was working, but he has the look of Pan about him?

I just got a lovely block of stone as a birthday gift and I'm very excited to do more carving this summer.

I used Faulds stone carving chisels, and a (too soft) sandstone.

Went to see "That We May Face The Rising Sun" earlier at Quad cinema Derby, and really enjoyed it. Some fine performances to savour, with gorgeous cinematography and lyrical piano score.

Album of The Day: Blank Generation (reissue). Richard Hell and The Voidoids. Saw the Voidoids support The Clash in 1977.Richard and his band faced an onslaught of beer glasses, coins and spit but never took a backward step. Respect.

Back at the cinema last night after 2 solid months of suffering from Meniere's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. Feeling better now and went to see The Holdovers. Tonight, I''m going back to the cinema to see a recording of the stage play Vanya. Hope everyone is doing ok.
